Seems like we’re primed to see some trades given how fluid the rankings seem to be. Some teams are bound to love players that other teams don’t care for. In my head that should mean more trades than usual.

If the scouts like Jiricek, I can be on board. I sort of view him as either being great value long-term where he lives up to his top 10 potential that he had or he's going to look like someone that should've been in the bottom 3rd of the 1st.

Kind of agree, the pick would make me very nervous but I trust our scouting guys/front office enough that if they think he's the guy I will be ok with the pick. Knee injuries scare me and can be really tough to come back from, especially in such a crucial stage of development for a young prospect, I would rather avoid it but I guess we will see what happens.

Rumor with the Habs is that they are trying to move up even farther than 21 so this is likely just the first step.

But in general I agree, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense unless you know the guy you want is out there.

Edit- This brings them into the next tier of players in this draft, whether they take a D or F at 5th, they'll most likely have the opportunity to draft a Hage, Boisvert, Solberg, Emery.

Presumably they have a couple guys in mind and feel if they wait until tonight price could increase. They got price they can live with and pulled trigger. Habs have had lot of extra picks over past few years, so quality over quantity makes sense for them. And presumably Kings don’t love who they expect at 21.
