How much can Tomlin ride that defense? The Steelers losing 5 straight to close the season was bad enough, defense was gassed. All that good fortune at the start of the season wore off quickly. Not only did the defense wear down, so did the offense.

We went from Chef Russ back to Cornball Russ, George Pickens can't catch anything his way plus starting fights in the stands with fans, the running game with 2 yards a carry Harris was lethargic.

1-2 years imo given the ages of Watt and Heyward.

With that said, they have a habit of drafting just enough to keep things steady. So if they nab quality replacements...the Tomlin train can continue.

As a Steeler fan the list is pretty short on guys I want back next season. Cam Heyward, Watt and that’s about it. I could be talked into a couple other guys but that’s it.
Tomlin needs to go along with a few of his hand picked assistants.

Why does he always get the credit for the wins and excuses for the losses

Well they don’t have the QB, well they were the undersdogs.. well he’s the coach and has been for 18 years and under him they are always undersdogs

Maybe get a new voice in the room who realizes this model isn’t winning football

not sure? exactly how much influence does tomlin hold in the draft process? was drafting pickett largely his choice or the choice of the scouting department? it's not like it really matters anyways because 22 was an awful draft as far as QBs go

and not sure what more he was expected to do with 36 year old russ. considering the makeup of that team, they certainly overachieved

Tomlin is part of the problem, they’ve accepted the standard and as long as they keep achieving the .5 record nothing else matters. They’ll bring back Russ again for next season and you already know what will be the end result and in a year you’ll post the same post except with a 37y Russ


& Tomlin is a great coach and he’d get hired in a second, but there always comes a point where new voice/direction is needed, bringing people in who are ready to make drastic changes to the roster set up and for Tomlin he could walk into a situation with a better QB situation.

i'm not sure how much influence tomlin has in their draft process. don't think any of us do. overall, i don't think they've drafted poorly these last few years if you look at who they've picked up

but i do know that it wouldn't have mattered which QB they would've drafted in 22 because they're all terrible. really hard to have success without a good QB, and still tomlin has gotten his teams into the playoffs despite that
