Barring Lamar or Allen totally choking next week I will say we will have a new Super Bowl rep from the AFC this year. KC couldn’t even easily beat a team with zero offense and a worse defense than either Baltimore or. If fall

I mean…you can make that bet every year and eventually you’re gonna win. But this is the exact thinking that we’ve heard the last two seasons. I dare say if we look up the 2023 Divisional and Conf Chanpionship rounds, the thinking was exactly the same.

If I want the Chiefs to lose, this is the exact line of thinking I’m avoiding.

We are going on three years of “the Chiefs aren’t that impressive if they can’t look good against X or Y then they have no chance against Z.

All that matters is winning the game in front of you. Period. And if you think at this point that the Chiefs can’t win a one off game against Baltimore or Buffalo, however impressive they are statistically - I mean, good grief.

Baltimore or Buffalo could absolutely beat the Chiefs next week but to say that if they don’t it’s “a major choke job” is absolutely an absurd thought. I pray that one of those teams comes into Arrowhead next week with your mentality.

They're spotted 10 referee assisted points every game, good luck overcoming that

I'm expecting Kansas City to three-peat.

But it was refreshing to hear Aikman just torch the referees for the calls Mahomes was getting.

Troy has been around a lot time as a color guy. Plus he took hard hits when he played. Respects the rules in the game to protect the QB, but clearly is not pleased to see that Mahomes is playing games to get calls like side stepping the sidelines and stopping them flipping following a hit and that late going down.

And he's absolutely right. QBs deserve some extra protection in today's game, but the #1 protector of the QBs should be themselves. Mahomes is actively putting himself in positions where he can get injured simply to try and draw calls.

One of these times, someone needs to just run through him anyway. If he wants to abuse pass protection rules, defenders should abuse him the same way.

I agree. One time he will mistime it or the defender will finish him off and he will miss games (PO) ones too and they will blame the defender but it’s really on Mahomes.

Wonder if the rules committee will basically enact Diving and call that flop by Mahomes unsportsmanlike conduct. And clean up the giving themselves up.

Mahomes doesn't draw roughing the passer penalties that much.

He did have the second most this season (oddly enough Fields was first) but on a per attempt basis he is nowhere close to the top.

Even worse for the haters though is teams get away with a ton of liberties with him.

The narrative that the Chiefs get help from the refs consistently is such a joke. They don't.

They got lucky twice today with 2 calls, but more often than not they see their receivers getting mugged down the field with no call, or their pass rushers having hands right up in their face with no call.

Even in this game Trey Smith got dinged for a bullshit holding call that wiped out a nice play.

Even more of a joke though is the Texans seeing a game where they got sacked 8 times and missed 3 kicks and their first instinct is to blame the refs because they helped the Chiefs get a field goal.

That's some real loser mentality right there.
