Horrible offensive line.
The schult. Whiffed on his man who got the pressure. Poor communication and fundamentals by OL. You always protect from inside out like in that 3rd down play.

Sack back on Houston side so now pretty close to a long FG to make it a 2 score game.

Yea it should 100% be the same as a fake slide. 15 yard penalty from the previous spot and a loss of down. Make it absolutely unacceptable.
But alternatively, maybe the refs should just not call these borderline slides or out of bounds. If you aren't clearly out/down, then you get hit.

Yeah QB protection is being exploited for sure, they need some protection but can't let players take advantage of the rule. Flopping to draw a call should be a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty too.

I'm in favor of both.

Clearly faking a slide or going out of bounds is 15 yards + loss of down.

Fighting through contact or trying to tiptoe the sidelines means you're treated exactly like an RB or WR would be.

I don't know why they should get more protection than other positions, they're rarely put in a vulnerable position.

The reason is they're protected is money. Accountants shouldn't be making the rules for sports.
