Allen was unleashed in their win against the Chiefs because they understood that they couldn't be conservative. McDermott should be fired after the game if he forgets that in the playoffs.
Part of me thinks it’s almost a good thing that they’re playing an opponent they know well enough and know they can’t beat themselves or play for last guy with ball wins. They’ve wanted safe and steady and control every time they can get it. It’s been both playoff game-plans. Denver they pulled away from. Baltimore drops and turnovers got them through. But they have to know that doesn’t work against KC. Because they’ve played them eight times. Now…they did try it this year and they did win…but that was at home, when Mahomes wasn’t playing nearly as well, and…Allen put on the cape to end it. So I suspect they’ll open trying to do it…and abandon it for hero ball much quicker than they would against someone else.

The other part of me knows we are 0-3 in the playoffs and wish it was anyone else.

Wow.
This is really impressive.Did AI do it?

Bills in a nail biter. If there was any time for the Bills to finally overcome the demons, this would be the one

As pointed out the Bills coaching staff let Allen run wild when they played KC earlier in the year.

KC still didn't look too hot against the Texans and Houston might have been able to do damage if Stroud had more than one guy to throw to.

I saw some stuff on the Bills running game the last two weeks that was interesting but also explains some of what annoys me. Basically…the Bills had an unnaturally successful day running the ball against both which is why they left Allen mostly in the barn. Now…on one hand…yeah you had the lead in both games and the run was working out so of course, right? But that third quarter yesterday is a bigger lesson than successful run rates. They went an entire quarter with run calls and screen passes and went from up 11 to up 2. I don’t care what percentage of runs you’re successful at…you can’t just abandon your fastball.

I don’t think some early stops by KC against the run would be the worst thing in the world if it keeps Brady and McDermott from repeating this pattern. They need Allen to be playoff Allen. Not a safety plan in case you need him in third and long. Romo called it quickly that they were slowly sinking themselves without using their best weapon and he was right. Mark Andrews fumbled and dropped a ball or they’d have gotten got in a game they should have taken full control of. That’s not going to happen next week. It has to be the Josh Allen show again. No matter how much they want to run it. It’s the Chiefs and it’s the AFC Championship. Gotta live and die by your sword. If you go out on it…so be it.
