He did pretty well in Draft combine. But of course he is not any way near as a talent like he’s father was. mixed feeling about this pick, but i trust club management.

Just so everyone knows, he had a massive growth spurt within the last year and it may not be over yet. Mikko Koivu also went through a late growth spurt and it slowed his development somewhat as it took a while for him to adjust and also grew his body more via weight training. So be prepared to take your time with Aatos.

Missed most of the second day till now, but glad they drafted him. Just a feel good pick and hopefully he becomes an NHLer!

An interesting pick. There were some bloggers predicting this selection.

Aatos had a really nice second half in league play but an underwhelming U18.
Whole team Finland had but that's exactly what you get
when you hire kiss my ass country club members to national team coaching positions.

Marko Kauppinen who coached U18 team Finland
is total nobody as a hockey coach who got fired of his SM liiga
coaching duties ( Mikkelin Jukurit ) because he and his game-plans sucked.

However i wish good luck and all the best for younger Koivu in his future.
Hopefully one day Aatos skates and plays in Bell center carrying number 11 or 9 ( if those are available )

Thanks for the insight.

Didn't even know Koivu's son was in the draft. Probably a long shot, but it would be amazing if he pans out and becomes a regular.
