Yes we know HuGo didn't think so. They aren't stupid,. If they thought he was close to Bedard level they would have drafted him. So either they didn't rate him that high or he was being an asshole and refusing to report if he was drafted. If he would only sign with Philadelphia then they wouldn't likely get anything as good as Reinbacher in a trade.
Bedard is looking less and less like an Elite superstar by the day.
A good, undersized center with a good shot that plays like a winger.
Caufield is a better player than Bedard is at this moment.

Michkov is pretty on par with Bedard. Put Michkov with the Hawks and he probably has the same or more points than Bedard.

Is this a joke. Michkov is doing nothing at the moment with decent linemates. He would do nothing with the Hawks. Bedard would likely be on 90 pt pace with the Flyers since he is close to 80 pt pace playing with mediocre players like Donato.

I don't get why people are so bothered by how our PP will look with Demidov here. Having 'too many' talented players is a good problem to have. It means you can switch the game plan if needed, forcing the opposite teams to adapt on the fly. You can also build two pretty good PP waves.

I'm sure the PP lines will evolve depending on which players have good chemistry together. I think Hutson has a guaranteed slot on PP1 for the next decade. Laine seems to have more success with one timers than Caufield on the PP, so if he remains with us I'd keep Laine on PP1. Suzuki definitely has a spot on there too. He's our first center for the foreseeable future.

So that leaves two slots on PP1 that they can rotate players in: Caufield, Slaf, Demidov, Dach, maybe even Hage later on. Imo, you just go with what seems to work at the time.

You could end up with two PP waves like...

Laine-Dach-Demidov
Suzuki-Hutson

Caufield-Slaf-Hudon/Newhook
Hage/Guhle-Matheson/Mailloux

Seriously who the heck is Hudon lol

Bedard is horrible defensively. You think Tortarella would put up with that?

If Bedard was on Philly he’d get the same treatment Michkov is. All his innovativeness and creativity would be coached out of him by Torts.

Tortorella is the only person in the town of Philadelphia that likes the way Michkov is playing. I kid you not. Everyone is pissed and Torts says he likes it.🤣

Michkov is on a 60 point pace.

In any event Michkov would do nothing with Chicago. He is playing with far better players than Bedard is.

My post made sense. Yours doesn't. There are no good forwards on Chicago. Foligno and Donato are 3rd liners that should never see the ice with Bedard. Konecny, Frost,Tippett are all far better players. Of course most of the Flyers would be far better if the coach wasn't a waste.

Demidov who turned 19 last month, could be leading the KHL in points. He could have crushed the KHL record for U-20 points. You never know how a player will adjust to the smaller ice and we need to see what kind of off-season does he have but yes he should be better then everyone on this team. I've been saying since last year that I think he's a bit better then Michkov who I think is going to be a bit better then Caufield.

But keep in mind, it's not about him being best on day 1, it's about what's the best way to develop him. If we landed Bedard at the draft, would you put him on the 2nd line and 2nd PP unit on day 1?
In Demidov case he already plays on NHL size rink, KHL rinks are NHL size now but to me Demidov has to adapt to the physicality of the NHL that's the only thing he needs to adapt. Having watch over 15 games of him this year he is way faster stronger and skilled than Michkov, he really took the next step this year

I mean you conveniently left out Teravainen, Bertuzzi, Nazar and Taylor Hall, as if there's no talent at all there. Michkov would be able to produce with that talent if given the same opportunities.

Michkov would likely be producing near the same rate on Chicago because he'd definitely get all premium opportunity with that group.

Quality of teammates means little if a player isn't played to his strengths. You’d think someone posting in a Demidov thread would understand this by now.

Bedard is allowed to be Bedard in Chicago. Michkov isn't given that same privilege in Philadelphia, nor would Bedard in the same circumstance.

Bedard will likely be superstar level. Dont overlook he’s only 19.
Of course development isnt linear but he’s outproducing Kucherov, MacKinnon and Draisaitl at the same age.
He’s just not the generational talent everybody thought he’d be.

Bedard, Michkov, Celebrini, Demidov, (maybe that McKenna kid) look to be the next elite class of forwards in the NHL.
