Maybe Sennecke (who I was a huge fan of if we couldn't get Demidov). He's putting up some serious numbers in the OHL. Would I be as excited as I am with Demidov? No chance.Genuinely curious,
If the Blackhawks had picked Demidov as they should have, would this forum be excited about Levshunov, Sennecke, Silayev, Iginla, or who ever would the Habs would have picked?
It’s similar to NHL contracts expiring midnight July 1, yet players do move beforehand. The KHL playoffs only end in May? It’s unlikely Nikishin becomes available to them to this year.
The offer they mentioned was somebody else's unprotected 2026 1st plus a 2025 second. The condition was the Habs only wanted one guy at 5, if that guy wasn't there, they would do the trade.I think it could have been with the Hawks? for their 2026 1st rounder or was it to drop down?
SKA is making the playoffs. We’ll see him at rookie camp in the summer. It’s similar to NHL contracts expiring midnight July 1, yet players do move beforehand.
Wouldn’t shock me if Hughes “incentivized” Rottenberg to allow Demigod out of his contract at end of SKAs season in March
Bro, calm down, Marty Lapointe is a tad biased, no? He’s also one half of the “genius brothers” who wanted Reinbuster over Michkov. ‘Nuff said about his talent for evaluating players.Even Martin Lapointe said that Demidov is a steal, one of the best players of this draft if not the best. Soo, he have the potential to become the most dominant player from this draft.
Will see, Celebrini is a superstar, Demidov aswell. Both will make a difference for their team.
I always ranked Demidov #2 all year long before his draft and he have everything to put massive impact, not just for Habs, but for the league aswell!!

Never . . . unless we win a Cup in the next 5 years. Then, maybe.Reinbacher is exactly what we need for this team. Like exactly. If we have a stud defensive rangy RD with a quick transition first pass to add to what we're currently developing we are so set.
His injury is just an absolute curse but if he can make it back to where he was trending it's gonna be unreal. We have Demidov, who gives a shit about Michkov. Time to let it go, it been beaten to death twice.
Yeah I dont know why people are still wishing we got another winger.Reinbacher is exactly what we need for this team. Like exactly. If we have a stud defensive rangy RD with a quick transition first pass to add to what we're currently developing we are so set.

f*** thisKinda unfair to Reinbacher anyways considering he's hurt.
I has confuse like you. Demidov thread had like a extra 10 pages in one day lol. What is going on!? Seriously, what's happening!?
I'm 100% sure, Demidov will be a NHL superstar, like i knew Hutson would be one.« A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush » We know for an absolute fact that Celebrini is an NHL superstar. He’s in the NHL playing like a superstar. As awesome as Demidov looks he’s not in the NHL. Celebrini is an absolute sure thing. Demidov is almost that but not quite. Picking Celebrini is a better bet by far. I still pick Demidov in a re-draft. Why? 1- I’m probably biased. 2- I probably also need to be locked up in a psych ward.
Incentivized with what? He’s an oligarch. It’s similar to NHL contracts expiring midnight July 1, yet players do move beforehand.

The 2024 draft feel like watching a movie. The Celine Dion announcing our pick. The story with Hage and his father. Drafting our old captain son (Koivu). The slow way Celine Dion announced the pick and builds up anticipation right before she announces "Ivan Demidov" is chef's kiss.
Sennecke and Demidov are probably the only player capable of challenging Celebrini for the #1 position in a redraft in 5 years. I can see Senneck being the third best player of the 2024 draft.Genuinely curious,

Next question,
Does Columbus selecting Cayden Lindstrom validate many people's prior critiques of Trevor Timmins?
Demidov was ready for the khl pace since day 1. And Rotenberg is definitely a idiotAs I wrote, once Ivan got used to the pace of the KHL, he played more. Roman Rotenberg is not an idiot, he knows one needs every good player for SKA to win the Gagarin Cup. It hasn't even played in the final in recent seasons and Gennadi Timchenko may not like that in the future.
Btw, Demidov is much better than Mikhkov. You don't have to cry for Matvei.
He’s not the one who made the final decision. So perhaps he has some indirect responsibility. IDK how much knowledge they had but drafting a guy with back problems that high seems a bit reckless. All teams between 2OA and 4OA made a historical blunder passing on Demidov.Next question,

What did it used to be? I am very curious.agree about the team but not about the city. I lived a little in the Carolina's (for a very short time, mind you) and it was an unbelievable experience, If I had to choose to live anywhere in the USA it would definitely be the somewhere in the Carolina's.
I lived in Montreal for 15 years and my work moved us to Quebec City in 2015 (do not regret moving here). MTL is no where the city it used to be in the early 2000's
my 2 cents
Acceptance & the marketing of SKA Brand.Incentivized with what? He’s an oligarch.
I fully expect one of the wokesters who covers the Habs to make an issue, even if in a minor way, about a Russian player joining the Habs at this time.Look at that... The Montreal Canadiens are at the forefront of building a bridge between Russia and the rest of the world
but seriously.
Demidov game changer... World Changer.
I wouldn’t bet on it… their livelihood depends on Demigod coming over and increasing Habs demand exponentially, increasing thirst for infoI fully expect one of the wokesters who covers the Habs to make an issue, even if in a minor way, about a Russian player joining the Habs at this time.
