Once again, Michkov was playing a lot more minutes and lot more PP time. It's sad, but we can't compare them using the total points of both players. Of course, Michkov will probably be the leader for the total points, but Demidov puts him in his little pocket for the points per minutes played
Michkov wasn't good enough to crack the SKA roster, Demidov did.

Still can't believe that Sharks passed on him :sarcasm:

Maybe not, but seriously, he should easily go 2nd hahaha
Honestly, and I may get some haters for this but, knowing what we know now, I would have picked Demidov over Celrbrini. Again, that's just me but this kid is pure magic! I mean, would we want to trade Demidov for Celebrini right now? I wouldn't...

I’m the other person on the planet that would pick Demidov over Celebrini in a re-draft. I would not trade Demidov for Celebrini, but I’m pretty sure I’m in the 0.0001. Celebrini is having a McDavidesque season and has looked better than the generational Bedard aka the Second Coming. So there’s that. Basically you and I are certifiably insane.

Too early to say, but, offensively Demidov is superior, and as a 200 foot player, he's not far behind.

We are going to find out how this ages after next season. Lots of hype with Demidov but it's not some gullible based hope. When fans from other teams acknowledge it as well, you know you got a good one.

« A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush » We know for an absolute fact that Celebrini is an NHL superstar. He’s in the NHL playing like a superstar. As awesome as Demidov looks he’s not in the NHL. Celebrini is an absolute sure thing. Demidov is almost that but not quite. Picking Celebrini is a better bet by far. I still pick Demidov in a re-draft. Why? 1- I’m probably biased. 2- I probably also need to be locked up in a psych ward.

Even Martin Lapointe said that Demidov is a steal, one of the best players of this draft if not the best. Soo, he have the potential to become the most dominant player from this draft.

Will see, Celebrini is a superstar, Demidov aswell. Both will make a difference for their team.

I always ranked Demidov #2 all year long before his draft and he have everything to put massive impact, not just for Habs, but for the league aswell!!

Michkov wasn't good enough to crack the SKA roster, Demidov did.

What I heard was that is was his teammates that didn't really want him on the team or something to that effect. I know there's been talk about his personality and how he can rub people the wrong way. So far with the flyers i've heard nothing but good things for the most part, I know there was the stick swinging incident that got him fined and I heard something about an run in a ref.

Clearly the skill is there for both SKA or the NHL, his shot is lethal and he's clearly a very offensive minded player.

Before the draft on this board I said the only person I would consider taking over Celebrini was Demidov, if we won the lottery. At the time I would have no issues if we did win it and they went Celebrini, as we all saw the Hutson-Celebrini show at BU all of last season so it would be hard to get mad but as of this year I would say I agree that I would not trade them one for one if say SJ for whatever reason wanted Demidov instead of Celebrini. Can't go wrong with either though.

Just the idea of playing together for the best franchise in the league would be enough. Plus MTL >>>> Raleigh as a city
agree about the team but not about the city. I lived a little in the Carolina's (for a very short time, mind you) and it was an unbelievable experience, If I had to choose to live anywhere in the USA it would definitely be the somewhere in the Carolina's.

I lived in Montreal for 15 years and my work moved us to Quebec City in 2015 (do not regret moving here). MTL is no where the city it used to be in the early 2000's

my 2 cents

Yeah, we can comfortably say his D+1 has been superior.

When asked if Bobrov considered Demidov a steal, he said that was "an understatement". He's a 1st OA talent.

Genuinely curious,

If the Blackhawks had picked Demidov as they should have, would this forum be excited about Levshunov, Sennecke, Silayev, Iginla, or who ever would the Habs would have picked?

I love Celebrini and won't say anything bad about the kid. Would love to have him here too lol

However, having said that, this is the Montreal Canadiens, and given this team's history, place in the local culture and style of play its fans demand, Demidov is nothing short of perfect. Montreal loves outrageous skill. Demidov will be a GOD here. Wait until he scores his first highlight reel goal and flashes that smile. That smile was born to be a Habs.

It would be have been a reaction similar to either KK, Galchenyuk or RB. Pick the one you want.

no....

maybe Sennecke
If Demidov wasn't available, I think majority wanted Tij Iginla. Small amount wanted Sennecke or Lindstrom. So, I don't know, I don't want to answer the question because we got Demidov! For once, we have a prospect who's consensus amongst the fans and the management but more importantly, finally a high end offensive prospect!

We would have never known because in the Habs behind the scenes it was made clear if Demidov at 5 they had a trade agreed.
