If Demidov was playing legit top 6 minutes he would be considered the best player in the KHL that I am convinced

Add Michael Hage aswell, that's going to be to watch the forward group with Hage and Demidov.
Reinbacher will make the defensive group better with his great two-way game.
I always see a pair between Hutson and Reinbacher, that's potential to be really really good!

I love Michkov, but this being a Habs board I think it’s only fair that we bring up when he’s being less than stellar.
Will certainly be interesting to see how he closes out the year.
The way Celebrini is playing it’s hard to imagine him not leading the rookie scoring race when it’s all said and done, but the question will be whether or not there is enough of a gap between him and Hutson to see who’ll get the Calder.

The whole play was awesome. He's like a heat seeking missile. The way he physically broke up the play and put himself in a prime shooting position for his teammate after making the hit was a thing of beauty. This is a player who is far from one dimensional. He can create offense in numerous ways which will make him that much harder to play against in the NHL.

plus when you compare PP TOI, I don't have Michkov's, I want to say last year it was over 2 mins a game but I could be wrong. Demidov is of course at 0:29 per game which is one of the most mind blowing things I have ever seen in all my years of watching hockey. I know they want him to re-sign but it's clearly not working whatever plan they have going on here.
Last year they were 1st OA in Wins, yesterday they were tied for 9th OA in the KHL. With their resources, everyone involved has to be wondering what the f*** the plan here is. You have to face facts, he's leaving at the end of May and clearly will not re-sign. The team keeps dropping in the standings and now they just lost their leading scorer for the next 2 months it sounds like.
The stats on Demidov paint a clear picture, play him over 14 mins a game and he's been over a ppg (10 gms/12 pts).
Play him over 10 mins a game he's almost a ppg (21 gms/20 pts).
Play him under 9:14 and he's terrible (11 gms/1 pt).
Now just think if he can put up just about a ppg if you play him over 10 mins, if they had put him on PP1 and kept him there all season, how much more offense could he have? But I've said he's the most skilled Hab prospect I have ever seen.

Since Demidov is so good on both ends of the ice, why do people dismiss his potential as a C so quickly? People have stated he played there a lot before the KHL.

I followed Michkov in Sochi. Everytime they had a PP Michkov absolutely would be on the ice. And that’s Michkov’s claim to fame, like Laine he has outsize production on PP vs 5v5.

This is not development. This is an immensely talented individual that would take repeated attempts to derail his career to have a chance at messing him up. Development really matters for those on the fringes, Hutson isn’t one of them and neither is Demidov.

We need to calm the expectations for Demidov too if he's with the Habs next year as a 19/20 year old. North American style hockey is an adjustment especially in the best league on the planet. There will be both ups and downs.

What I can tell...
1- Because of the extremely limited in person viewings his draft year, the false notion that he was a small 5'10 and non-physical forward instead of the 6'1 tank outmuscling men he really is took root. So much so that some "hockey people" still believe today he's a small frail player.
2- Suzuki is maybe not a top 5 or top 10 center, but he's a true #1 if compared to the rest of the league whether top 15 or top 20. Dach was viewed as the clear #2 C that could even challenge Suzuki. So many Hab fans still have their mind set that Center is already spoken for. And we do have one or two holes for Top-6 wingers.
3- In some early rankings when he was a Junior prospect he was put C, C(W) or F. As time went on and accompanied with the obligatory "smallish non-physical forward" moniker in the description he was more and more listed as a Winger.
I just want him in Montreal, I'll settle for any position at this point TBH.
Correction: After going to see draft year reviews, he's listed at 5'11 but sometimes described as being smaller than Celebrini.

I think it's something the Habs should be looking at but for now the main concern is just getting him over here and then we'll see what kind of plans they have in mind. I think he just needs to work on the physical things like getting quicker, more explosive, add mass/strength.
The train of thought for some people is he’s such a talented and dynamic forward, they’d rather see him dominate the wing and create as much offense as possible.
That said, if we don’t solve the 2C problem than Demidov at center will get more discussion and get floated more and more.

It depends if Marty is smart enough to give him #1 PP duties. If so he's going to absolutely light it up. No doubt about it
