Agreed. Let the player earn his ranking or hype by playing games in the NHL. Most of us who have been around know all about hype/projections. It looks very good for Demidov but he has adjustments to make going to the NHL. For now, lets say he is a blue chip prospect trending very well with not much flaws.

Said it before and will say it again. If I'm being tough on Demidov (like I was with Hutson), I want to see more goals from outside of the hash marks. NHL D is very tough to score inside of the hash marks. Not the same in the KHL... their D is less physical.
Since most goals are scored within 20-30 feet from the net, he'll need to learn to get to these areas if he wants to be productive at this level. Judging by his determination and talent level, he should succeed.

21st in KHL scoring with an average TOI of 11:31 (4th liner TOI). How is that even possible ?
It means that he’d be 1st in scoring in the KHL if he had had the average TOI of a typical 1st liner instead of a 4th liner. This is corroborated by the ridiculous 4.11 P/60 he now has where the next guy behind him (Leivo, the KHL’s top scorer) is not even close.

I think he will but I am talking about the extra level he can work on if he wants to be a star. That to me is sniping ability and one timers on the PP.

So, you are willing to ignore the potential of Demidov at C because Hage could PROBABLY become our second line C? C'mon, man.

Right, and people's opinion is to dismiss his potential at C. It's been going on for pages now. As stated, I don't mind him starting at W.
What part of "I'm not against the possibility" don't you understand?

And you just said in the same reply that you don't mind him playing at wing. Isn't this what I just said but for center?

I have not dismissed anything..learn how to read!!

Sheeeshh..some people here loll

Are you sure you’re taking about the same guy? He self creates breakaways every single game. He can go where he wants to go on the ice.

A little bit, they're both similar in that they have good vision, like to go east west and are fearless in driving the net on their goals. I only saw Fedorov use the 10-2 once there, something Demidov favors a lot and makes it feel like he's gliding east to west and really hard to predict which way he will go.
Also Federov favoured his outside edges and cross overs to change directions while Demidov uses the wide stance, inside edges, and the 10-2 to unbalance his defenders and attack them with insane change of east west direction. I love that people think it is only going to work against lesser defenders but that skating style is very unusual and Demidov moves at such a fast rate of speed and when you add his stickhandling, you get the human highlight reel that will make most defenders struggle to contain him.

To be fair, reading is hard.

Deebs was replying to guy that said he wanted to see Demidov scoring more from outside the hash marks. I think Deebs is saying that since most NHL goals are scored from 20-30 feet, what Demidov actually needs to do is learn to get to the dirty areas. And based on his talent level, is demonstrating an ability to do exactly that.

I get all the emotions on the subject loll

But to be fair to you I would be more then ecstatic to have him be a center...hell! I even wouldn't mind him being our #1 in a few years!

My point is and yes maybe or probably if Hage becomes our second line center man..we could have an issue if Demi becomes one also.

Could Hage play wing? I believe he's top 6 pottential 100%

So where do we go from there...

Maybe in 2 years or so

Suz
Demi
Hage
Evens/Beck?

It's an happy problem because it gives us high chips players for possible trades where we still lack.

Anyways! It's all good. Sorry if I came off a bit pissy. Some times I read in diagonal too! Loll

Peace brother!

Edit : Dang! I forgot about Dach. 😅

I posted this in the Demidov thread on the main boards as somebody had requested it, but i'll share here as well as it's quite interesting to compare some of the high profile Russian prospects in their D+1 seasons in the KHL

Kaprizov- 53 GP, 17:21 TOI/G, 133 Shots, 1.76 PTS/60 Mins, 2:57 PP time per game

Kuznetsov- 44 GP, 14:12 TOI/G, 158 Shots, 3.07 PTS/60 Mins, 2:06 PP time per game

Panarin (not drafted, but used the draft + 1 age)- 20 GP, 12:14 TOI/G, 25 Shots, 2.21 PTS/60 Mins 2:02 PP time per game

Michkov- 48 GP, 16:58 TOI/G, 191 Shots, 3.02 PTS/60 Mins 2:55 PP time per game

Demidov- 40 GP, 11:31 TOI/G, 84 Shots, 4.04 PTS/60 Mins, 0:43 PP time per game

The thing that stands out the most is how little powerplay time Demidov has been getting compared to the other 4 players....He just started getting some recently and the results speak for themselves.

Posters will typically use Kaprizov’s D+2 as the season to calculate his PTS/60 mins because they quantify the best U-20, not the best D+1.

But that's his D+2....we're trying to compare apples to apples here., and the original poster asked to compare D+1 seasons. Yes, Demidov, Panarin and Michkov are early birthdays, but we need a basis to compare.

I'm still hoping we manage to trade for or sign a 2C this summer. Even with the talent on the wings on that 2nd line I just can't see it being dominant with Dach at C. I wouldn't be shocked at all though if Demidov has cemented himself as one of Suzuki's wingers by the end of next season.
No need. Kirby Dach is still under contract for this year and next, and is RFA in June 2026 (not UFA).

Imagine how other teams feel about passing on Hutson!
They feel nothing. GM and Scout in the NHL are kinda dumb. His brother got drafted in the second round pick. I has sure someone will take a chance in Lane Younger brother. Cole Hutson is a very skilled player (like his brother).

Don't understand how they can see Hutson kill the NCAA and let his brother fall too.

You know, that exercise can spawn a whole lot of other comparables that may not necessarily hold up.

I know it could never fly in this NHL but man do I miss helmet less hockey. It was far more intimate in my opinion. Personalities were so much easier to discern. Lafleur's flowing locks is as iconic as it gets.

Great pics btw. :)
