Not sure when he made the move to the big club this past season there, he is a November birthdate so may have been as a young 18, either way that's impressive even if they weren't that good of a team.

Yeah, being an effective defender against high level adult competition is a very promising thing.

I know that some are ruing that we missed out on Emery, and I know that he's tall and athletic, but one thing that jumped out at me when they showed his stats at the draft yesterday is that he had only 1 goal and 15 total points in 66 games with the USNDT. I don't know how much that means (if anything) but like I said, it jumped out at me.

I mean once you get to the 2nd round few players are going to be above 10% NHL chances...it's a crapshoot projection anyway based on best guesses. We've honestly hit better on 2nd rounders than most teams
