2024 2nd Overall Artyom Levshunov

He literally says: "If Anaheim gets the second pick in the next draft, they will take Belarusian defenseman Artem Levshunov, and the two of them [along with Mintyukov] will terrorize the league for many years".

To me, it sounds like he is commenting Anaheim as a guarantee to pick Levshunov as their highest pick and is pretty confidend assuming Levshunov would go 2nd and if Anaheim doesn't get to pick second, they would miss him.

He was saying it in the context of talking about his client MIntyakov as a matter of irony, again, before the lottery.

Anaheim went well "off the board" to take their guy.

Again, until you show something where someone with inside knowledge says Anaheim had Lev higher than Sennecke I'll go with Sennecke being their guy regardless of Milstein commenting on his client going 2nd overall. If the context of the quote had nothing to do with Mintyakov that would be different.

I have less of a problem with his model as I do the opinions he makes based off his models. The model doesn't take context into the equation. It's up to him to add that information into his predictions and not just double down on what the model is saying.

Him talking shit about Nazar (I think it was last year), saying Frank would never become a star because nobody with similar stats to Frank in their D+1 season went on to become a star is a clear example of listening to the model and not taking into account the context of why his numbers were like that. The kid missed most of the year due to a hip injury, if the model doesn't want to take that into account, maybe he should when he posts that information in a tweet.

Sure, in the theoretical world where all that matters is your stupid f***ing model.

Anaheim and Columbus will be, sure. San Jose absolutely won’t be and there was never a debate about who should go first.

I don’t think we will be regretting it either but way too early to tell.

That guy is such a loser and his content shouldn’t be allowed to be posted it’s that bad.

Bader compared Rinzel to Justin Schultz, no credibility at this point, but yes, at least Anaheim and especially Columbus should be regretting their decision. It seems KD likely had Lev/Demidov 1a/1b for the pick at 2 but tie went to Lev because he is a RHD, was in NA already etc etc...

at the time I was kind of happy the trade fell through with Columbus because there was a chance it would end up top 2 but now I sort of wish CBJ had not preferred the guy with the cooked back; its looking like it would've worked out better for both teams if the trade went through, but Schaefer/Misa etc is still a good outcome
