I was looking at a few of the players that Team Canada passed over during selection, of course they all have some highlights to look at, but my God does that Carter Yakemchuk have some elite skills. He looks like a young Ryan Getzlaf out there. 6'3"... Seems like a steal down at 7th overall.

Feels like he’s always making positive plays. It makes zero sense when the two RHD playing in the top 4 have been pretty awful all tournament.

Americans have been very good at shot blocking. Canada seems to be retreating into the D-zone.

He has looked poised relative to some of the other D-men. I don't know why he isn't getting more ice time.

Tremendous stretch pass in the 2nd that should have resulted in a quality scoring chance. All of Canada's LD are puckmovers though, so I can see the old school coach leaning heavy on his stay at home guys.
