Actually though, how the hell is Michael Misa not on this team? 30 goals and 31 assists in 30 games at 17 years old? On defence? At this time of year? Isolated entirely in your kitchen?

He’s even bigger than Beau Akey at 6’1.

But really, it seems like the forwards are missing a bit of offensive finish. Pop gun offence. Theres definitely a couple good shooters, but a bunch of guys dont seem too dangerous.

Eh, TBH, a loss to Latvia is probably good for our chances of winning the tournament.

Over the years, I've found the teams that have some adversity in the Round Robin tend to win more than the teams that roll through it. Just galvanizes a team a little bit, reminds them they have to work just as hard as the team across the rink that usually has an average draft rank 30+ spots lower than them.

I will say though, for a team selected mostly for its grit, 200 ft play, and having role-players for every situation supposedly... I feel like we gave Latvia a lot of good looks and didn't get to the inside literally at all. And you know... the PK looks pretty damn bad.

Makes you kind of wonder why they left a 6'4 power forward known for driving the net that PKs, like Beckett Sennecke, at home...

Meltdown on the main board is fun to read. Some posters just do not understand how much other Countries get up for games against Canada. For them? It is like going up against the cup champions, the Bulls in the 80's and the Yankees--pick a decade. It is the one game they go all out for
