The US team isn’t that good compared to previous years but that top line with Augustine in net is definitely enough to cause problems

I like Basha but Cole Hutson would have been cool in the 2nd last year too. Though I guess you could argue that kind of player is a bit redundant with Parekh Bru Morin etc already in the system

We take ASP then we don’t take Parekh, and Parekh has far more star potential. Plus Parekh + Honzek >> ASP + Luchanko/Helenius. Calgary got a big body centre with speed and skill to go with the best offensive Dman prospect the leagues seen in a while.

All the doom and gloom over the roster is mostly just people upset we didn’t make an all-star team or pick everyone’s favorite prospects taken in the top 10. We outshot Sweden 42-22 and the Czech’s 39-23. Those are two great teams in this tournament and neither of them looked like they could handle Canada’s speed at all as the games progressed. People are up in arms that we have some matchup players (we still have the likes of Yager, Martone, Luchanko) in our bottom 6 instead of pure skill, but it’s our top 6 which will drive the bus and it’s electric.

Calgary’s forward pool looks a lot worse Honzek removed, and he’s also our only chance for a centre out of the whole crop.

Calgary needs offense, and I like our prospects a lot more for providing offense than any combo of those names.
