Savard wouldn't be bad if it was a fourth round pick going back to Montreal and they retained 1m.
Not bad defensively and a good shot blocker that also plays the PK well.
6 ft 1 in 238 lbs.
I wouldn't object as a pure rental. The back end could use some size.

There is no way that Chevy is going to give up Yager for a rental.

Some murmurs that the Jets are interested in David Savard.

Womp, womp...

Nelson will obviously be a 1st, a prospect and maybe another pick

How high are all y'all willing to go on the other prospect and pick?

To me, Lambert, Yager, and Salomonsson are for sure no-gos

Chibs and DD are under "maybe"

I think I'm OK trading anyone else

Chevy should also be looking at Buffalo, if Nelson doesn’t work out. Buffalo is 1 and 4 in their last 5 games, and down right now. Buffalo has some great young players like Byram, and others. I’d be looking there as well.

One thing is for certain. Jets fans over rate Perfetti.
He is good. Sure. But isn’t untouchable.
No one is even sure he wants to be here long term either.
Look at his contract negotiations.

Sure, but Jets are not going to trade him at the deadline, unless it was some unbelievable return. Not while being in 1st place in the league. Could he be traded in the off-season? Of course. Anyone could.

nelson is actually the only answer available at 2c lol...
That’s the problem. He’s the only “answer” but I don’t think he’s enough of an upgrade on Namestnikov to warrant a 1st + plus a top prospect + more, if that’s what it costs. It’s better than spending a first on Laughton but I wouldn’t go for Nelson at the price he’s likely to command.

he's 100% an upgrade on names and you also send names down to the 4th line who is 100% an upgrade on kupari

The 1st doesn’t bother me, assuming it’s in this year’s weak draft that’s going to be more like a 2nd.

The “top prospect” is the kicker. And if that prospect is Yager or Salomonsson then yeah, that’s insanity for rental Nelson and a hard no.

I doubt it would be that level, most of the teams don't even have a 1st this year as well

I guess we’ll find out tomorrow.

For Nelson, my final offer would be a 2025 first, a B level prospect (eg. Freij) and then throw in a conditional 2026 or 2027 pick depending on how far the Jets advance in this year’s playoffs.

If another teams outbids the Jets on that package then so be it.

Yeah, this is more reasonable. I just think based on the prices we’ve seen so far it’s gonna be more than this and Nelson ain’t air worth that as a rental IMO.

I guess the question comes down to the price — is he a big enough upgrade to justify a 1st + a top prospect (like Yager)? No. That seems high for a rental but the prices seem high this year.

I’d be okay with @Hank Chinaski offer but would not pay anything higher.

I do like bringing in Nelson to guard against an injury to a top sixer and provide more depth scoring.
