Although I would love Rantanen, Nelson, Ferraro, Tanev, I just think that will the lack of meat on the block this year prices are going to be prohibitively high.

I think that either Chevy does an off the radar hockey move, or we better be prepared to get some black ace style depth who might not even crack the lineup.

I'm mentally preparing myself for us going into the playoffs with what we have, and frankly I'm ok with it.

I think it's very likely chevy is going to spend and I think the black ace style depth is the least likely scenario

last night lebrun said he thinks chevy will do everything in his power to get nelson and friedman said if we don't land the big fish(nelson) we will look to fill every hole we can and mentioned us going after 1-2 dman

At this point I think if Nelson gets traded it's gonna be here, just based on what insiders are saying I suspect they are unwilling to get outbid there. I'm more interested in what might happen with defense adds, I'm wondering if they are looking to upgrade at both Top-4 RHD and bottom pair LHD. It would be crazy expensive in terms of futures for sure but if there was ever a year to go for it I think this is it.

I mean, Lebrun and Friedman wouldn't have an ulterior motive to try and stir up excitement, would they? :P

Look, I hope I'm wrong, but for me that's just the pure fan in me. Logically speaking I know that year after year these types of big swings end up being a net negative for the future health and depth of a club.

I am also slightly apprehensive because this group has shat the bed in the playoffs historically, and until they actually prove they have learned their lesson they haven't. As we learned last year grabbing 2 scorers it didn't do anything to improve our fate in the post season.

My gut feeling is that Chevy won't do anything that will make us thing "man that was way too much", but I guess we will see

Need to be careful about too many big adds as it could disrupt chemistry.

2C I'm good with and would be on board with one defensive upgrade as well. I think any more then that and I think you start to have too many new faces to integrate.

if they were throwing things out there to build excitement they wouldn't be using the jets to do so

how much of a net negative have trading these picks actually been? were currently #1 team in the league while having a decent prospect pool, I think it's been exaggerated how much losing these picks has actually hurt us, it's not like were giving up a top 10 pick that could actually be a difference maker

from every thing that is out there I would be shocked if they only come away with pressbox guys

I don't think there is a Jets fan out there who isn't concerned about our boys not performing come playoffs and yeah it doesn't matter who we get if they all shit the bed when the stakes go up. Not that I think we shouldn't add come TDL but the boys have a lot to prove this post season.

Nick Schmaltz - Utah.
5.85 per. Signed for next season as well.
Posted decent numbers on crappy teams.

Just a reminder that Armia has more playoff goals than Ehlers. And it only took him one playoff year to accomplish this. One that eliminated the Jets.

By extension he has more playoff goals than Iafallo, Appleton, Perfetti, Kupari, Barron and Gustafsson.

And currently has better PK metrics than all the Jets forwards, except Connor, and Appleton, who has been used sparingly.

His 10 regular goals would place him 8th among Jets forwards. 3 of which are SH goals.

Seems like an area of improvement?
Yeah people are sleeping on Armia big time. Sure he is a bottom six guy on a contender. But he is a high level PK guy, and an excellent puck possession and defensive player. Has size. Has enough skill to score too. We know him well enough. He does his job 4/5 games and 1/5 he is on and has flashes of dominance.

He is about as effective as Iafallo overall and would make a nice compliment to the 4th line with him and Namestnikov I think.

Better 5v5 and on PK than Barron so I say why not?

Ferraro, Nelson and Greenway for good measure and I would be ecstatic.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much for Dumoulin.
