Speculation: 2024/25 Trade Rumours, Speculation etc Thread

It is funny that we feel that way when the Jets are the 3rd highest scoring team...but it seems to be an issue when the PP is not humming.
The Jets are 13th in the league for 5v5 with 2.46 GF/60.
They're 18th in xGF/60 with 2.48.

They're not significantly undershooting or overshooting expectations (-0.02). They could use some more 5v5 scoring because they're kind of average.

The Jets' advantage at 5v5 is in GA/60 and xGA/60 where they're 1st and 7th, respectively. That's kind of a significant gap (-0.59/60 - about 25%) between actual goals-against and expectations, so govern your regression concerns accordingly.

The powerplay is still running hot, even with a bit of recent regression since the 4 Nations break. Powerplays are small samples by nature, so you can see some crazy stuff - like the Jets powerplay is outshooting expected goals by about +3.3/60 - but I think that's just some small sample weirdness. Their last 25 games they're "only" outshooting expected by +0.82/60 - about 8%.

dreger said he thinks nelson would waive to winnipeg, which makes sense considering it's only an hour drive for his family to drive up and watch him play
If you are more than doubling the speed limit maybe, but I get your point.

Top Objective: Second Line Center
Ideal Fit: Brock Nelson, New York Islanders
Scoop: Few teams have been as aggressive in recent years as the Jets. It was Tyler Toffoli and Sean Monahan last year. The problem hasn’t been trading for rentals, it’s been keeping them. They stand a pretty good chance of keeping Brock Nelson if they can snag him from the Islanders. They have a clear and defined need in that 2C role which could help put them over the top while they run away with the division. You could also see the Jets add an inexpensive depth defensive piece as well.

I read that Nelson signing as an UFA with the Wild on July 1 was the worst kept secret in the NHL. Who knows though.

Gotta stop that hutterite fentanyl cartel

No not here, you are supposed to drive really slow in the passing lane, maybe even throw your hazard lights on for shits and giggles too.
That’s apparently also how you’re supposed to drive on the major highways here in Ontario…10 below the speed limit in the passing lane on a 3 lane highway while surfing your phone with one hand and drinking your soy milk, pumpkin spiced latte with the other.

I honestly think the cops would make way more money ticketing the drivers going too slow under the speed limit.

I got a speeding ticket last December…doing 140 in a 110, and the cop was laughing saying he understood considering all the Teslas slowing down the fast lane recently. He drop my ticket to 120 in the 110 and didn’t stop laughing the whole time.
