dreger said he thinks nelson would waive to winnipeg, which makes sense considering it's only an hour drive for his family to drive up and watch him playNelson has a 16 team NTC.... I'll assume we're on it lol
Who's in the market for a C?
Even if we have the best offer, if he refuses to waive and there's an offer from a team not on his list, we won't get him
I wonder if Laughton is plan B
I wonder how Lou handles the situation if he has an offer from a team not on the list but it's inferior to what chevy's offeringdreger said he thinks nelson would waive to winnipeg, which makes sense considering it's only an hour drive for his family to drive up and watch him play
I think that series chipped away his confidence... id say there will be a lot of GMs unhappy about the four nations...Is it just me or does KFC seem a bit off since returning from 4nations? Specifically his goal scoring. He’s had open looks especially on the power play but just one goal. Once he gets one, I’m sure he’ll be a game breaker again.
Want nothing to do with the Engvall contract even if it did lower the price. Too much and way too long.I have wondered if the Jets strategically set up their shop in Philly because they are trying to hammer out a Risto trade, and last night had the opportunity to scout Nelson.
I can't help but think that Chevy like us fans are seeing De Melo have some breakdowns. On the Nelson goal I think De Melo played that one tough, a bigger defenseman might step up there. Ristolainen on the right side could move all the way up with Morrissey, and have De Melo move down with Stanley. Maybe having stronger options in the #4/5 d-man positions pays dividends.
I proposed a Nelson/Engvall trade on the main boards, where the Jets take something back (term in an unwanted salary) to soften the asking price.
And could run something like
KFC-Scheif-Vilardi
Iafallo-Nelson-Ehlers
Barron-Lowry-Appleton
Nino-Namestnikov-Perfetti
With Engvall-Gus-Kupari as the aces.
Have Nelson take a lot of draws that Kupari would take, defensively, and stretch out 4 lines.
I think that's a good one to take on if you are trying to get Nelson, because it's one the Isles want to move. That's where the Cap space is handy. You can give the guy a shot in a reserve role, he's had more playoff experience and success than AJF, Gus and Kupari too, and if he shits the bed, well the buyout wouldn't sink a team like the Jets.Want nothing to do with the Engvall contract even if it did lower the price. ...well, more like 2-2.5 hours drive, unless you are in a helicopter.dreger said he thinks nelson would waive to winnipeg, which makes sense considering it's only an hour drive for his family to drive up and watch him play
Chevy being if Philly is game related (Jets' game there tomorrow night).I’m hoping if Chevy being in Philly is trade related, it’s because Laughton is plan B if Nelson falls through, and has nothing to do with Ristolainen.
Just responding to the report he’s supposedly staying there trough the TDL on Friday...well, more like 2-2.5 hours drive, unless you are in a helicopter.

Looks like it would be 1M/year for 10 years to buy Engvall outI think that's a good one to take on if you are trying to get Nelson, because it's one the Isles want to move. Chevy is in Philly because that’s where the team is tomorrow. Need a central location to gather his scouts and the Jets indicated they would travel with the team and then stay in a hotel in Philly until Fridays 2 pm deadline. Then catch up with the team in NJ for media availability Friday before the game.I’m hoping if Chevy being in Philly is trade related, it’s because Laughton is plan B if Nelson falls through, and has nothing to do with Ristolainen.

I assume he goes to Brock and asks him to waive and if he refuses, he takes the lesser offer
Maybe proximity to family and the fact that the Jets sit at the top of the league make a playoff run here appealing to him. I guess we find out on Friday
The price for Nelson is likely a 1st and a good prospect. It would have to come down substantially IMO to make it worth it because I think a buyout is more than likely. So that's cap space and $ out of TNSE's hands.I think that's a good one to take on if you are trying to get Nelson, because it's one the Isles want to move. That's where the Cap space is handy. I don't have any sense of what his value is in a trade, just know that Patrick Roy hates him. And that he played some hockey at a couple of levels with Gus in Sweden. He also has a 16 team NTC, just for irony. But he might prefer Winnipeg to Bridgeport as a career move. And I'm not sure he'd immediately get bought out here with some holes looming next year. The price for Nelson is likely a 1st and a good prospect. How much do you anticipate taking on Engvall to lower the overall price to be worth it?
It is funny that we feel that way when the Jets are the 3rd highest scoring team...but it seems to be an issue when the PP is not humming.clearly need more offense
Lou gonna Lou.
I'd guess that Heinola is going somewhere this Friday or before. Our current cap space sits at 11.8m, which means we have the cap now, but we have 23 on our active roster..so we have to either move someone, waive someone, or wait for Friday
Never know, maybe Crosby is feeling the Canadian pride given the current climate and he wants to give Canada the best chance to take home the cup? Edmonton is logical, but a small market prairie-based team taking home the golden jewel for Canada? There is something beautiful about that.Maybe Chevy goes big and gets Crosby, Rakell, and Dumoulin.
Connor - Scheif - Vilardi
Ehlers - Crosby - Rakell
Nino - Lowry - Perfetti
Barron - Names - Apples
Morrissey - DeMelo
Samberg - Pionk
Dumoulin - Miller
Don’t wake me up yet… just let me dream a bit longer
Plugging fleury in for a couple games has got to sting...I'd guess that Heinola is going somewhere this Friday or before.
Honestly, there is only 1 other Canadian team winning the Cup, that would be a bigger deal…and that’s Toronto.Never know, maybe Crosby is feeling the Canadian pride given the current climate and he wants to give Canada the best chance to take home the cup?
