if they feel like barlow is going to bust they should 100% do it
Agreed, sell while he still has some value if you've given up on him. It's what they should have done a couple years ago with Ville while other teams still were high on him.

Depending on the auction…could very well cost more… which is where I start getting antsy…Probably the only real key piece I'd be interested in adding. Likely cost a 1st and Barlow.
I doubt many teams would offer more then a 1st and a former 1stDepends on the auction…could very well cost more… which is where I start getting antsy…

You have put alot of work in here on this good job , appreciate it. I just think the players are making very good money and shouldn't have no trade clauses. Obviously i'm a bit more on the NTC side because of being a Jets fan but i'm just not a huge fan of players having their cake and eating it too .I agree, the math associated with all this is speculative.
But no-more-so than polling 18-26 years old players on a subject that has no bearing on them & then using it to take jab's at the Winnipeg franchise in the international media year after year.
Only Chevy knows many potential deals he's lost due to this. I'm not about to start reviewing every deal Chevy has made, but it's certainly true that players with NMC's & NTC's have in fact been traded to Winnipeg.
your package is worth more than what we traded for stastny/hayesI've yet to see a rental in his category go for much more then that. My package is right around what Stastny/Hayes garnered from us in the past. But I'd be willing to throw Ville in as a sweetener if need be.
Winnipeg Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff and his scouts are travelling with the team on its current four-game trip through Long Island, Philadelphia, New Jersey and Carolina. Instead of flying with the players and coaches from Philadelphia to New Jersey after Thursday’s game, they’ll set up shop in a Philadelphia hotel on Thursday night and stay through Friday afternoon’s deadline.
After 2 p.m., Winnipeg time, on Friday, they’ll fly to New Jersey, where Cheveldayoff will talk to reporters about the deal or deals he managed to pull off, assuming there are any.
Is Winnipeg one of the teams on his 10 team NTC?I'd deffo bring back Tanev. Not exactly what I am looking for but we know what we'll get from him and we know he'd fit right in
That's an awfully steep price for a rental. Unless Chevy can re-sign him.Probably the only real key piece I'd be interested in adding. Likely cost a 1st and Barlow.
I don't think I would move him either, now if we could get a team to take Lucius as a throw inJust wondering, why have so many people sort of soured on Barlow ? He's got 30 goals and 54 points in 54 games as we speak with Oshawa.6"1 center almost 200 pounds, i don't think i would be trading him .
For me it’s not that I’ve soured on him…it’s that you have to pay to get and Barlow is the highest prospect I’d offer in a trade.…above him are Lambert, Salo, and Yager and I only entertain including Lambert if he’s requested…Salo and Yager are untouchablesJust wondering, why have so many people sort of soured on Barlow ? I'd like all or most NTC removed but to be honest I don't think the NHL owners care enough to make this a CBA discussion point. It affects us the worst, and maybe a few other teams. The majority of owners don't care because they own franchises where NTC don't get in the way of building a good team. You have put alot of work in here on this good job , appreciate it. I look at it as a mixed blessing. We get to find out who doesn’t want to be here and we get to avoid many
expensive mistakes. I don’t want players that don’t want to be here.
It makes it tougher to attract free agents or put together trades but Chevy still manages. It’s the downstream effect of being a less attractive destination.
Fortunately players from 18 to 27 have much less control.
You said you didn't care you wanted trades. If the jets give up a 1st plus for Laughton I might go bananas.
Does BlueSky work as media posts here like Twitter used to? For those who care, here's my take on the Jets trade deadline options this year, with some common names being thrown out there or for ones that WPG should try to pry from the other team.
Also in the thread are some of the "risky" players or players to strictly avoid for one reason or another.
In a magical world, Jets would somehow be able to get Erik Karlsson for this year and next two so they have another defenceman that could add something offensively like Morrissey can but on the right-side. Connor Murphy would be a solid consolation prize as a better fit on the top pair, and DeMelo could slide to the bottom pair to stabilize things a bit there. Hopefully they sneak out with one of those mid 6 forwards too to give them some options of mixing up their top 6 when they need to - someone like Barrett Hayton is the long-term solution (but obviously unlikely), McCann/O'Reilly/Gourde might be short-term upgrades over Namestnikov but carry some risk in another way (mostly the speed factor), but even adding someone like Bjorkstand or Reilly Smith would help a lot.
In the real world, I see WPG probably going after a PKer for both a forward and defenceman - probably a Luke Schenn and Armia, neither of whom would honestly move the needle much for what the Jets really need to improve on (yes, the penalty kill, but more importantly 5v5 offence).
In the "glass-half-empty" world, Jets probably make one move and then announce an expensive Pionk extension which would be just as bad as the last time they overpaid him in a contract year.
His injury history has me extremely hestitantReport that Norris could be made available by Senators. Interesting.
And his contract is pretty healthy for someone that doesn’t play full seasons due to injury troubles. His injury history has me extremely hestitant
Same overall feeling as me with the Jets untouchable's unless Crosby is wanting to come here for a Cup run. I kind of have Kevin He on my list as well for another year or two, to see what he becomes. I have some odd "feeling" about him (He) that he is going to be a great Jet.For me it’s not that I’ve soured on him…it’s that you have to pay to get and Barlow is the highest prospect I’d offer in a trade.…above him are Lambert, Salo, and Yager and I only entertain including Lambert if he’s requested…Salo and Yager are untouchables
They also kept him around training camp longer than most prospects. Even with some struggles. He and Yager went the furthest into TC among junior eligible players, both missing the starts of their respective camps. For me, it's his skating and compete level
That said, I'll reserve judgement until we see him in the pros. He looked better on the Moose last year than he did in the OHL in my opinion
