Ironically that's what I was thinking when I looked at who might have 2025 1sts left.

I have to wonder which of those teams would have a need and be willing to move it for him?

That seems to apparently be the waiting game.

I heard the clip today where Seravalli reiterated once again what he said last week that they are waiting it out for a 1st on Laughton.

He said he believes the Jets offered up to a 2nd but were declined.

Frank also stated that the Flyers are looking for a 1st "+" in a deal for Risto.

It would all be about depth. What happens if Lowry or Namestnikov get hurt? Run Kupari and Gus with there all of 12 points combined this year?

It’s nice to imagine aiming higher. Which of Yager or Salomonsson are you trading? You might need both for a top 6 center with term.
That's where I would see Laughton starting. On the wing with Lowry. Both Nino and Apples are struggling to produce right now, and it's not an issue because the Jets are winning. But it's a big reason why the Jets are finding themselves in tight 1 goal games all of a sudden. Games that won't have 3 on 3 come playoff time.

Penalty killing, he could start on the top unit, bump Iafallo down to the 2nd with whomever.

But, Schief and KC are also not scoring. How many goals do you need? These tight games are just keeping players contracts down till we need them.

Well he's not worth a 1st imo. We will see of any one deals one for him.

Apples has 1 goal, 1 assist in his last 14, but we'll say 10 since he came back from injury. -1 in 10 games.

Nino has 1 goal and 2 assists in his last 10, -4.

That carried over from playing with Kupari, but it's got to be a little worrisome for the management, given that the current checking line did not have a strong playoff.

The early season scoring the Jets had was spurred on by what was the best checking line in the league. I am not sure it is close to the best checking line in the league, even with Lowry back. And I don't think anyone is looking at Lowry as the problem.

Chevy not stupid enough to five a first for Laughton. Good player to have for depth but we don't even really need him. Like mentioned above I wouldn't mind him on the wing instead of Appleton. Nino may not be producing right now but you atleast know he can put up some points.

He gave a 1st for Monahan last season.:dunno:

Myself I don't mind the idea of changing the checking line to Laughton-Lowry-Ehlers, two good defensive players, one scorer.

Put Nino with Namestnikov and Perfetti, adds size to that line, which might be needed in the playoffs.

Iafallo is a lock for the 4th line, but you'd have a competition with Appleton and Barron for the final winger spot. Kupari stays at a 4th line level with more center depth.

One of the two have put up more than 40 points in more than one season, I'll let you guess which one.
I'm not saying Laughton is good. I'm saying that if a GM is willing to pay a 1st for Monahan after his first decent 50 games in years, I wouldn't bet on his also paying a 1st for Laughton.

Ehlers is a lot of things to a lot of people, but I don't think I've ever heard him being suggested as a checking line winger before!

I get that I'm reading the trade proposal thread here, but given that we're first in the league and riding a 10 game winning streak, I'm not keen on messing with the chemistry too much...especially in the top 6 or top 4 d.

The Iafallo-Lowry-Ehlers line was a checking line, that scored. Matching up against Mackinnon and Makar.

I don't think that's Arniel's go to. I agree 2nd line is scoring, right now, but if they don't score in the playoffs, and Namestnikov has the most playoff goals out of all 3 on that line, there should be some other options.

I'd consider Boeser if he's relatively cheap, but I willingly admit that I probably think Boeser is better than he is.

Still, his name presents a great opportunity to re-use a slogan from a German beer commercial. Gut, Besser, Boeser.

Apparently the Jets offered a 2nd for Laughton, but Philly wanted more? Saw on Reddit.
Did the 2nd round pick or his agent leak this? Or did Briere leak this to make sure Chevy won't deal with him anytime soon? Not a chance that Chevy is the source.

I really don't think we need any depth pieces we have more than enough both on offence and defense. Knocked one out of the park or take the day off and hold on to your picks and prospects.
