I really don't want anything to do with Toronto's trash, none of them could, would or should be in the Jets lineup.
I just assume when people make those comments they haven't watched the players play. Dewar would be a nice addition. Guy kills penalties well Good speed, Averages almost 3 hits per game That's what you think Arniel wants from his 4th line.

Not one of those three takes any Jets player currently in the lineup spot especially Reaves. We don't need a fighter on this team we actually did quite well without the Captain in the lineup.

Still need some depth. Maybe start the playoffs with the guys who are here? Seemed like an inexpensive way to acquire some, using Cap space. I'm just not a proponent of proposing the best top 6 forward out there, not directed at you particularly, when the PK is still one the biggest weaknesses heading into the playoffs. Dewar could back up Barron. Timmins is a better PKer than Miller, who ended up on the ice last night somewhat lost for the Blues go ahead goal in that situation, with Pionk in the box. So it's some competition.

Yes team did well without Cap. And fighting really depends on opponent. I think the Jets PP has been a good deterrent, but we'll see what the games look like when they have more meaning. A series against Flames would be intense I think, some nastiness, more than vs. Canucks.

Pretty strange take on that third goal... Miller was playing aggressive as our PK is designed to be - not lost - then Stan joined and left the front of the net... that resulted in Miller/Stan switching to their offsides since Stan was now at the boards...

Its tough to comment on Stan's game without being called a hater - but that one is on him - he needs to be aware that he's net front and get out to challenge the shooter once that cross ice pass is made... he gets caught chasing the puck. That being said, so did Connor and Names...

Not our best PK moment but definitely not a reason to knock Miller.

and how are the leafs going to make the cap work?
They have $2.2M space, and would have to get another team involved to retain salary. After you get a team(s) to take on 50% retention for picks which helps them to get to cap floor the next couple of years when the cap jumps, you move Domi or Kempf or both.

That’s for them to figure out.

1) both schenns have term getting retention will be very very pricey
2) domi and kampf have term which will also be pricey to get rid of
3) leafs don't own their 1st this year and their prospect pool isn't the greatest

Sure. It wouldn’t be easy and would take a very motivated BT to make it work.

How realistic would it be? No clue. But there are reports out of TO that they are very interested in acquiring Brayden Schenn (with Berube’s history with the player) so to make that work would take the most cap gymnastics.

I predict Stan does not dress come game #1 in playoffs.
Great, now he’s coming to games without clothes??

:naughty:

Reaves is basically just a warm body at this point, he might still lay the odd hit here and there but that's about it, waste of a roster spot imo.

Greenway is a big boy though and yeah very tough who can play, I wouldn't be against that.
Agreed on Greenway. He be a sold add for the 3rd or 4th line that brings some snarl that our current spares do not.

Jets could really use a player who is difficult to move from the net front and willing to put the hurt on opposing team’s defensemen on the forecheck.

You’d hope if the opportunity presented itself to join a top team for what could be a long playoff run or staying with the Sabres, that said player would choose to waive his ntc.

If they are as good of depth as you say then why are the Leafs moving them? They also want to go on a lengthy run.

Personally i think we can find better depth options elsewhere.

It seems Pittsburgh is showcasing Glass by playing him with Malkin. Despite the loss I thought he played well and had a big part in two of their goals. He can play a depth role and PK.

With my homer glasses that would be one of my favourite deadline pickups. I'd like to see a local player have the energy from family and friends in the building.

I don't know that I'd really classify Kyrou as struggling. He's pacing 30 plus goals and 65 points this year. Pretty much what he did last year.

Just went back and looked at his numbers and he’s not doing as bad as he was earlier in the season. He’s off his pace from a few years back when he was kind of in and around PPG for two seasons but still respectable for a #2 centre and #1 PP type asset. Probably not moving him.

L. Schenn has had some solid defensive seasons in the past. i dont follow nashville hard enough to have a qualified opinion on him this year. but as a 3RD may be ok, but really how much is he incrementally better than Miller? and he will have to be paired with Stanley on top of that.

have mentioned this for a while, but this tdl is shaping up to be a bit of a dud based on the names available. things change quickly though ie: Stastny was made available essentially the day before the tdl in 2018 when STL decided they were sellers. the main gripe was the 2nd line for me; however, they are playing much better as of late.... if they keep up the recent play over the next couple weeks, i don't think the Jets need "the" big name at this tdl.

i think they add a top-9 caliber Fwd, and 1 vet D.

Yeah I think the play is a very solid 3LD to bump out Stan, that is assuming that Arnie doesn't just then drop Miller and run Stan as 3RD which is highly possible 😭

And I also think this TDL might be a bit of a dud, hopefully though we are wrong and the GM's surprise us, love watching the TDL.

I also think he probably would be a cheaper and potentially better option than Appelton on Lowry's line going forward. He's now got the defense and grinding element to his game but in the games I've seen still flashes a good amount of puck control and passing skills.
