Cozens would do well in between Perfetti and Ehlers. The 4th line would feast on other 4th lines.

I think a lot of the "insiders" rely on agents for their information. Lots of times they are probably leaking stuff to probe for reactions, and other times they are trying to shape the trade market for their clients. PLD's agent seemed to be generating all sorts of mischief to try to pressure Chevy's hand to trade him to the Habs, but it probably backfired.

Chevy probably does share some tidbits with Dreger a bit in advance, and sometimes seems to share thoughts that he wants to get out into public. But generally Chevy's important moves come out of nowhere and none of the insiders had a scoop much in advance, if at all.

they sent ford/lambert down during days off before the 4 nations break to gain more deadline space, nothing may end up coming from it depending on the market but they sure as hell are looking to make a bigger move then just depth adds

the rumors we got on the jets from the insiders have been that we would be looking hard at nelson if he becomes available or would be going after the best available forward depending if ehlers/lowry work well together

Agreed with most of what you've said. For what it's worth is suspect it's more Chipman than Chevy feeding Dreger info but that's just a suspicion

Forgot Proverov had retention on his last trade. Still its $18 million and we are only expected to have $12 million at the deadline.

Could be unrelated to the Jets but Briere and Jones were both present in person last night watching Colby Barlow (among others) play last night.

If they are going for Ristolionen as has been rumored in the past I could see Philly looking at Barlow. He'd fit the prospect mold they lost with Gauithier.

Would Nelson be a good 2nd center ? Good size, can score goals. No contract next year but he will be 34 next year.

He is on a 52 pt pace which is 2C territory. It is also clear decline on his part.

There will be a lineup for him as soon as Lou decides to sell. I'm not at all sure he will be worth the price.

Take out Lambert and Provorov
Lambert because, personally, I wouldn’t trade him. I put him in the same untouchable catagory as Yager and Salomonsson.
Provorov because I don’t see the need or point.

Cozens and Weegar would be an amazing addition.
I’d love to see what a line of Perfetti - Cozens - Lambert could do.

Cozens is a far more realistic trade candidate for us, I can actually see Chevy acquiring him and there are rumors we are interested.

Don't get me wrong there is definitely room to upgrade Namestnikov, would love going into the playoffs with Namestnikov playing on the 3rd line with Lowry and Neo . I like Kupari as the 4th center because of his speed, then throw Appleton and Barron with Kupari and that's a very fast 4th line. I would like someone better than Schenn to replace Namestnikov though especially at 6.5 million a year.

I agree. Would like someone better than schenn. I will be quite sad if we get schenn to be honest.

That being said - schenn is clearly the better player. I would argue if schenn was on a line with Ehlers and Perfetti instead of names - his numbers would be aignifocatnly higher than what names has now (10 pt range).
