I think this year no matter what we add they need to be able to defend really well. No more goofy Toffoli type players that get us away from our identity.
Get assets that make us harder to play against like Nino. Guys that are physical, go to the dirty areas, and are very passionate about back pressure.
Our team has plenty of offence we need more playoff type players if we need anything
The Jets have 8 games left in their last 26 that should look like playoff games. 2 against the Canucks, 2 against the Oilers, 2 against the Stars and one against the Kings and Golden Knights.
For all the Jets scoring this year, they've put 2 on the board against Kings in 2 games. 4 against the Golden Showers in 2 games. Dallas was a blowout at home, rattling Oettinger, a struggle on the road, with only a single goal. Colorado the Jets put up 9 regular season goals in 4 games, for 3 Ws one in 3 on 3.
There's still going to be improvements for all the teams the Jets could meet in the playoffs at the deadline and Chevy has to analyze and at the very least try to match them.
Last year I think was a wakeup call that even regular season success guarantees nothing when it's only one team on the schedule with elimination on the line.
I think there's a mindset the Jets need to get to the next level. And like Aerosmith says you have to lose to learn how to win.
Counting on the PP to win games is no guarantee, but there has to be some optimism there.
Scoring playoff goals...who's got the experience? For some of these guys will be their 1st test. For others will be their last.
How much do the Jets need Helly to win a series? And can he mentally get back to the 2018 goalie that took the Jets to their greatest heights?
There is so much uncertainty that all these games can't dissipate until the Jets get over that hump. And Chevy and Arniel have to identify who have that ability.
I like your laid back approach to the season because it makes it more fun. But we all know it's about to get more serious.
