I think chemistry on defense lasts a few years. Like Mo-Melo. De Melo might fall off sooner. Salomonsson on top pair should be the goal.

What a great example to illustrate on signing Pionk.

This is not specific to you - it’s a great example that a lot of Jets fans have shown similar sentiment.

We JUST signed DeMelo to an extension this summer. Not even a year.

It has gone from “yes we have locked up 1rd to pair with JMO for the next few years!!” To “ugh we need to move DeMelo down the lineup. He is not a viable 1d.” It’s been like 8 months. Lol.

How long until we are like “ugh. Demelos contract is killing me”.

Oh jets fans. We are awesome, lol.

I literally can’t imagine it being a good long term decision to sign pionk at high dollars. But I’d love to be proven wrong!!!

Dobson is the kind of player you empty your futures load for. Not the rinky-dinky spending 1sts on rentals.

If he is truly available and willing to sign an extension I am offering 2025 1st, 2026 1st (unprotected), Barlow, Iafallo and NYI's pick of one of He or Walton.

Re-sign him for $8.5 million and move on from Pionk in the summer.

I want no part of Oleksiak and giving of two first-round picks for McCann is too much.

It would be alot , i don't think i would give up 2 1st's either but McCaan has term and i think would be in our top 6 for a couple of years . He has played center so a second line with him Ehlers and Perfetti might be very good. Oleksiak isn't great i agree but he would be a step up on Stanley and he has size as well. I just think adding them would definitely make the Jets even better and we are damn good right now.

I do recall McCann never really did well down the middle, there is a good reason the Kraken play the likes of Wright, Stephenson and Berniers over him at centre.

Fantastic winger though but yeah doesn't really solve our 2C woes so not a fan of giving up much for him.

Yeah if we are going wingers then RW would be far more desirable, think Boeser etc. Both Fetts and Ehlers play better on the left wing and with another top 6 righty we could run Ehlers as 2LW and Fetts as 3LW.

I like McCann's speed though compared to a Boeser's . I'm not saying there isn't better trades that can be made i just think McCann would be a good fit for this team. Now if Chevy can get Crosby i would be willing to live with that.

May be even less than that. Lou values for dmen has been wonky. Romanov for a 1st, a 2nd for Toews. But I agree with the crux of your post. Players like Dobson aren't available often and could be a cornerstone piece. For all the typical talk and questions on here of acquiring younger/long term 2C or RHD, Dobson would be a solution to the latter.

Vancouver is in a playoff spot, not really sure why they would deal Boeser.

I definitely like McCann, great player but the cost to acquire won't be cheap and unsure if he can be our 2C when he can't even secure that position on a pretty lackluster Kraken team, would rather we spend those assets that we would on him for a 2C solution.

Yup, just read anything on the habs boards and they are constantly ripped Dach for his lack of play, lack of IQ, lack of effort, being soft, etc. Looks like instead of the 1C they claimed he would become he's turned into a 3rd liner needing sheltering.
