The last several games in particular, even before Ehlers return, he has been playing very well.

I said yesterday I would move him for Cozens. I would not, much as I would like Cozens for his potential at 2C. We lose that deal unless Cozens suddenly starts really fulfilling that potential.

I'd much rather trial him again at center then move him for a struggling youngster. He's played a lot like a center the last few weeks and has done much more of the defensive heavy lifting. I don't think it would be much of a change to add faceoffs to his responsibilities. I doubt he'd be at the top of Buffalo's wish list anyhow as they have a lot of skilled wingers on the roster and in the system. They'd likely want defensive or center help.

Agreed, his play was really strong before Fly c

If we're putting weight on this metric, then we need to stop the Stanley hate. Aside from Ville (small sample size) Stanley leads the Jets D in that

Not meant to disparage ypur post or Perfetti, but can we get some consistency on how we use these metrics to evaluate players?

(again, not directed at you)

I've been fine with Stanley's play this year outside of when him and Ville have been paired together.

When Slammy is ready Heinola goes to the PB, when Stanley comes back Fluery joins him. It seem that is what the Jets coaches want and I don't see them deviating from those two in the top six D.

Agreed, that is how they will ideally want it. I don't really have an issue with it either as that group performed well.

Heinola's GF% is even better than Stan's and they've been paired together pretty much all of Heinola's time in the line up (again, small sample size)

As a pairing, they must be way up there

So with Samberg is back...

JMo/DD
Snerg/Pionk
Stan/Miller

Fleury/Heinola

Wouldn't be horrible, but that 3rd pairing has gotten caved in a bit in their zone at times. But it might be what we see in the playoffs unless Chevy decides to upgrade on Stan.

Yup, it's more my eye test with that pairing. I've liked both much more with Miller granted Ville has only played one game with him.

Agreed. They should have been using the Snerg injury to really find out what they have in Heinola. That means playing left side, multiple consecutive games. He is still playing like he is afraid that any mistake will get him press boxed again.

Set him up to succeed. If he still doesn't then we know. Go Mo, Berg, Fleury on the left and go find an upgrade for 1RD.
But why? They already know mo, berg fleury is better.

Nice to talk about goal differential when you play on the most sheltered line or the most sheltered D pairing...
If youre a defenseman playing mins against 4th line nhl fwds along with the best goalie in the league behind you, you'll likely rate well in goals for vs against stats.

I don't think it's what the Jets coaches want. I think that is what each player has earned.

I actually dont think they will go for a centre. I think they are fine with Names for this year and they really like, Lambert, Yager, and maybe even Cole for next year. I'd prefer them to add a long term peice at D but it will probably just be a UFA D and a depth forward

DD and Nino would be close to getting Cozens. Two things they really need. We aren't rich enough to trade away a right hand defenseman though.

If the Jets bring in a tough D man or tough forward w/term … Stanley is in the PB and gone next year. Unless Stanley still has an injury which is not 100% healed he is the weakest link on this team.
Seriously Samberg and now Heinola had to play of their off side just to cater to Stanley. Now that’s sad especially when Samberg and Heinola are better playing the left side … it makes no sense.
