I've always thought there should be a separate thread for those wanting to bitch and complain about "losing" players to waivers, didn't draft when we had the chance, didn't sign as a UFA etc. and like to bring it up season after season, even after the player has been gone for years. I guess it meets some need, but if you had a dedicated thread those that want to do so could go to town, while most of us could just put on ignore. Presto everyone is happy.
Nope ... Verbeek want his players to play hard and grinding hockey like he did.Zegras?
And you think I don’t? It was just a suggestion to clean up the clog posts that derail actual discussions on our current team. The simpler way is to just not engage with those comments. You don't engage, argument doesn't start, post soon fades away. You disagree with the poster and argument is on. Or someone whines about all of the whining other people do and you get a similar result.
You see posts that affect you like that, just move on.
I meant Zegras for Cozens. Seems like a trade that might benefit both teams. Cozens with some Team Canada guys. Zegras in the East, closer to home.Nope ... Verbeek want his players to play hard and grinding hockey like he did.
Verbeek had over 500 goals and almost 3000 PIMs in his career.
If he wants to trade Zegras that tells me Zegras is not willing to put in the work to win.
I would rather have a player that wants to break thru the door rather than someone that wants that door opened for him.Nope ... Verbeek want his players to play hard and grinding hockey like he did.

Cozens is a player Chevy should push hard for. He has got caught up in Buffalo’s never ending rebuild. Great opportunity for a team to steal away a big top 6 center signed long term. As a 21 y/o he put up 31 goals and 68 points and the stink has just pulled him down since. At last year’s World Championship he had 9 goals away from the stink. You drop him into the current Jet’s roster at #2 C he probably gets 70+ points. Cozens presents a great opportunity for an aggressive GM.I meant Zegras for Cozens. How does he get those points? Are we kicking Ehlers off the top PP, which Cozens gets in Buffalo?Cozens is a player Chevy should push hard for. He has got caught up in Buffalo’s never ending rebuild. Sometimes you need to take advantage of an opportunity. Cozens is a big highly skilled player. IMO you put him in a better spot and he will knock the door down. Sometimes players just get their motor stuck in neutral in a bad situation. He will eventually get traded and explode into a top 6 center and people around here will discuss over and over again why it wasn’t us.How does he get those points? That alone drops the point totals.
Looking at his usage it's very similar to Namestnikov's, a lot of O-zone starts with poorer defensive results. And similar offensive results. Can't say if that's the player or the system, because I don't watch Buffalo, thank God.
There's obviously a lot of attributes to the player.
But I am just a realist, I don't see Chevy trading any player who is signed here for another player. I can't think of the Jets ever making that kind of trade, other than Kane, for obvious reasons. The Jets dressing room is something that is built with a lot of pieces that have come to fit. It's tight nit.
Maybe that's the problem, I don't know. A lot of GMs will aggressively make changes.
But I like the chemistry that is there between Namestnikov and Chibrikov so far. With Perfetti too.
I see teams with more expendable assets, which the Jets don't necessarily have or want to trade being in a better position here.
Unless that position is filled by Yager who already got a long look in preseason. And Crosby's blessing.Sometimes you need to take advantage of an opportunity. Cozens is a big highly skilled player. I don't like Cozens to play on the Jets "2nd" line. I think they need a big, fast player that can handle a 200 foot game. I'd much rather Ryan MacLeod, but I seriously doubt they would move him.I think they are looking at trading Cozens. He has been terrible defensively and hasn't found that scoring touch he had 2 years ago. He is very similar to Mittelstadt, intriguing player with size and skill but horrible in his own end. Could he use a change of scenery? Sure but that contract is a bit of albatross and you better be damm sure he can play on the 2nd line after.
It would seem the would want a similar aged player in return. That likely means Perfetti.
I don't see the Jets going into the playoffs with Connor, Ehlers and Perfetti in their top-6 offensive forwards. I think Arniel and Chevy will look for more size. I think that Nino would be a good option, and maybe replace him with Iafallo or Barron on Lowry's line. You would lose some secondary offense, though. Maybe Chibrikov could play on that Lowry line...Unless that position is filled by Yager who already got a long look in preseason. And Crosby's blessing.
I'll just say colour me shocked if Perfetti gets traded. I've got nothing to say about the rest, because I can see the logic.
I'd personally be looking at Byram, especially if the Jets had to try and get through the Avs again, because I think the skating edge would be on our side, on defense too.
There's a lot of players off that 2021 Canadian WJC team that I think would fit here.
so you're saying were getting mcdavid!I don't think Chevy is trading for any of the players mentioned thus far, it's fun to speculate though

What’s your intention here? Lowry matches up against the other team’s top offensive line so you want to move Perfetti and Ehlers into that role as well? IMO at least we shouldn’t mess with one of the best shutdown lines in hockey and instead let Ehlers and Perfetti stay in more offensive roles.Perfetti Lowry Ehlers worth a try imo.
Names is in decline, imo.
