If you started with Perfetti, how close does that get you?If it's an overpay I'm okay with that, this team needs a 2C badly especially for the playoffs. The 2nd line needs to be as dangerous as the first.

Not sure maybe halfway, have a feeling they would want Lambert + in any deal for him. Not sure I'm ready to give them Lambert. So Perfetti a first round pick and a lesser prospect might get it done but I'm not really good a the trade game.If you started with Perfetti, how close does that get you?
Would you give Perfetti and our 2025 1st? Huge cost but the guy is only 23 and in year 2 of a 7 year deal. Not sure maybe halfway, have a feeling they would want Lambert + in any deal for him. For Cozens? I don't think perfetti is all that but that's a huge trade for cozens who has been trending down. Not sure maybe halfway, have a feeling they would want Lambert + in any deal for him. I would be a terrible GM, but I said I would overpay and I'll stick to it.For Cozens? I don't think perfetti is all that but that's a huge trade for cozens who has been trending down.
I like his upside and he has a 30g 68 pt season under his belt, but his value is right now. That's a top tier price.
I think Cozens could be a bounce back guy in a new organization but that strikes me as a price as he has already bounced back.I would

Agree with you it is hard to put the exact value on these things, but IMO anyways these kind of high risk high reward moves can help change the trajectory for teams. Watching the World Juniors a couple years back I would have bet with confidence that Cozens would easily be a 80 - 100 point #1 center in the NHL. What if he could still be in a better situation?I would

This is what I'm seeing sometimes you have to say WTF and swing for the fences, it's a risk reward for sure but a producing 2nd line could be the difference between a long playoff run or a 1st round exit23 year old, scored 30 in the past, signed for 6 more years and has no trade protection, I get there is risk but I feel like this opportunity won't come again for a long time, much rather take a swing at a potential long term solution then get another band aid
Big swing...Chevy's taken big swings in the past, but only because a player has asked to go. Jets need another $2M-$3M in cap space to make it happen. Perfetti works. Ehlers makes a lot of extra space.23 year old, scored 30 in the past, signed for 6 more years and has no trade protection, I get there is risk but I feel like this opportunity won't come again for a long time, much rather take a swing at a potential long term solution then get another band aid
Iafallo to Buffalo too? He'll be moved at the tdl.Big swing...Chevy's taken big swings in the past, but only because a player has asked to go. Jets need another $2M-$3M in cap space to make it happen. Perfetti works. Ehlers makes a lot of extra space.
we have 4.8 million in space right now + perfetti at 3.25 would have us at 8Big swing...Chevy's taken big swings in the past, but only because a player has asked to go. Jets need another $2M-$3M in cap space to make it happen. Perfetti works. Ehlers makes a lot of extra space.
Or is Stanly being anchored by Ville? It really doesn't matter if they both need to be dragged around by the hair. All this what about ism with Stanley is just a distraction from actually talking about how bad Ville has been. He hasn't been misused, he hasn't done anything to deserve more than what he has got. People need to stop the excuses with this guy. Ville gets what he deserves.I don't know whether Ville would be succeeding or not. He is being played on his off side anchored to Stanley. Not exactly setting him up to succeed.
Stan is big but doesn't play a physical game very well. I give him credit for trying. But we don't need height, we don't need weight, we don't need a fighter. I agree we don't need a PP specialist either. We need a player who is effective. We aren't going to know if Ville can be effective or not if we keep misusing him. We do know that Stan is not very
90% of the league would also be looking to acquire that as well...I'd be looking at acquiring a top pairing RD ahead of a forward.
Come playoffs, everything tightens up and no matter what we get for forwards, our D right now will never allow us to advance more than a round.
Another long post of more Ville excuses and Stanley what about ism . It's all BS. Anything but discusing what Ville is doing out there. Ville is responsible for Ville.I think there's something to be said about Stanley's "kid-glove" treatment vs. Heinola's "sink-or-swim-you-tiny-f**king-Finn" theory of player development.
From the beginning, Stanley's had long runs of consecutive games, playing with reliable partners (DeMelo, Samberg) on his natural side. OTOH, Heinola's had very short runs and been jerked in and out of the lineup and has often been paired with less-than-steady partners and frequently on his off side.
Stanley's had consecutive runs of 13, 24, 30, and 15 games before a couple of years mostly pressboxing, because the Jets were afraid of losing him on waivers and him turning into a top 4 defenseman somewhere else (oops) when they'd already thrown so much good money after bad with him. This year he's once again never been asked to play his off side and, aside from a handful of early games has played in every game he's been able. In those 161 games, I don't think he's never shown even a hint of being able to be anything more than a 3rd pairing LD.
Heinola's longest run of consecutive games in his NHL career is...8. His most common partner was Lord of Chaos Neal Pionk. Then he didn't play any NHL games for 2 seasons. He's had another 8 games so far this season, the longest consecutive run so far being 3 games. Maybe they're still load managing that injury, but still...
Close? A guy with 14 points making 7.1M for the next 6 years? If you started with Perfetti, how close does that get you?
Nah, they'd be blaming the coach for his usageClose? A guy with 14 points making 7.1M for the next 6 years?
So you want to trade a 22 year old with 20 points making $3.25m for a 23 year old that has 14 points and making 7.1M for the next 6 years? That's an albatross of a contract for a guy trending down. If Perfetti had 14 points making 7.1M this year, this place would be carving him like crazy.
Yes, you are correct.90% of the league would also be looking to acquire that as well...
Yeah they got the same rope. I don't really give a flying f*** other than the fact that the way it's been handled just reinforces that this org has some serious blind spots and will never be able to really build a contender (other than the one they stumbled into, half built by Rick Dudley).Another long post of more Ville excuses and Stanley what about ism . It's all BS. Anything but discusing what Ville is doing out there. Ville is responsible for Ville.
He's not tiny, the Jets have lots of 6foot defensemen that they use just fine. He's much weaker than the rest of those guys for sure, whose fault is that? Stanley? Pionk?
Ville has been ass or hurt. Those are the facts. That's why he's been limited in his time on the Jets. That's not Stanley's fault either.
It's hilarious you call Pionk the lord of Chaos when trying to pump Ville's tires. Hasn't shown he's able to play defense worth a damn.
Captain obvious.we really need a center to fix that 2nd line
Do you think the Jets could get Guhle out of Montreal for Ehlers?I'd be looking at acquiring a top pairing RD ahead of a forward.
