Yeah it's worrying honestly, I don't hate Laughton but it's a very underwhelming move and unless he comes really cheap I would rather we stay away and look for something better.

60 is not unfathomable he's already averages close to 40 if you prorate it to 82 games played a season

Raatanan ain't going to resign in peg unless they offer him a massive deal.. Chevy needs to stick to his hard nosed negotiation tactics don't bite and cave into ridiculous inflated contracts that hamstring the team long term.. nhl players are generally pretty inconsistent.. much of their offensive output is contingent on so many other factors... ie ice time... pp minutes/efficiency.. line mates and just pain luck and poor goalie play.. jets should look at what attributes the player brings such as speed skill and size and how they fit within the lineup.. not the numbers... i can name u 100 players who had the odd 40 plus goal season but were never able to achieve it again.. I think Elias Patterson.. lindholm.. Jeff skinner.. luc debust.. Laine etc I bet if u give Appleton first line minutes and 1st unit pp time and he putting up 60 plus points.... this team just needs a Lil Size grit and speed in top 6 and bottom 4 defense and they golden.. they already very skilled top to bottom

It seems he wanted to stay in Colorado, and didn’t want to be traded to CAR, but he was and I think it’s in his head a bit. I get the feeling he wants to go to the FA and pick his new team.

Colorado is in the top 3rd of tax burden for US states. Lower than Winnipeg for sure but it doesn't seem to be a big factor.

Conversely, North Carolina has the 12th lowest tax burden in the US.

Yup, and let's be fair the Jets put a second line caliber forward on the third line in Nino. He's been a big reason for the boost in offense that line has gotten the past two seasons. If anything Apples drags the scoring of that line down. I'd be fine with adding a gritty middle 6 winger to boost the third line even more.

Apples on line 4 would be a good thing for me.

Let's be real vilardi numbers are inflated thanks to thier pp success.. almost a third of his points have come on the pp.. and almost half his goals.. u can argue that he's key component on the pp however I think guys like Morrissey mark and connor contribute lot to his efficiency

Not suggesting that apples is a great player.. just that he could have a season or 2 where his numbers are overly inflated do to the variables i alluded to earlier.. lucky shots.. ice time.. poor goal tending.. and solid efficiency with the man advantage.. most players are dime a dozen and have these anomalies where they produce monster numbers yet they can never replicate them again

If the Flyers are trading a player with term that raises a red flag for me.

How about the flyers aren't in the position to win now and are better off moving some aging pieces who still have some value to build for the future.. your over thinking things

I've never met a highly skilled player that wanted or looked forward to playing with less skilled guys, and I've skated with everyone from guys still playing in the NHL at the time down to beer leaguers. Even the best beer league guys want to play with the other best beer league guys

Ristolainen and Laughton are only 30 ... they have older players on the team that have more value that they could trade but are not going too.

No he won't because he isn't skilled nor does he read the game well enough to play with those types of players. Not just anyone can put up points playing with skilled players.

Case in point Copp has been a top 6 player most of his time in Detroit and has never come close to 60 points.

You identify Stanley as a liability on the ice, but he is 4th on the Jets for 5 on 5 GF% at 63.64% GF. This is adjusting for 300 minutes played, to weed out non regular players.

Gets really bad penalties, he cost us 2 leads in last years playoffs with his parade to the box.

Also. Limited role 6D data is going to be weak. He's clearly a bad player. A 6D isn't going to be great, but they have to stay out of the box, and not cause 2 on 1s regularly from bad pinches like Stanley does.

The math on Seth Jones is fine if anywhere from 1.5 to 3.5 is retained. Any player traded is off the books so that's another 1 million minimum (Stanley ). If Pionk doesn't sign, our RD is still strong. With the cap going up, and any retention, it's perfectly palatable.

He's a solid top 4 RD, who was great with Zach W in Columbus, who is similar to Morrissey. His size and skill complement Morrissey.

DeMelo bolsters out bottom pair and I'm case of injury we are that much deeper. A Fluery DeMelo bottom pair is solid. That's would be a deep D.

Adding a playoff warrior forward would be icing on the cake.

Be mindful Jones has been playing on AHL.caliber teams and goalies for a while. He would shine here.

Appleton like these other bums can put up a fluke season and be proclaimed a top g and spend rest of his season as a 3rd line bum. My point is most players are product of luck and system.. there's only cpl elite level players on each team
