Mack and Makar are a C and D combo, not a C and C combo like Drai/McDavid.

It's weird to compare each's playing time together against the other set.

I get that but it doesn't mean they both don't significantly contribute to each others' point totals in a way similar to McDrai. That's my only point.

MacK exclusively gets his teams best forwards on his line while also playing with the best defensive pair in the league. Outside of Drai getting McDavid, who else is he playing with regularly?

The fact the gap was 10 EN points in 10 more games and half the goals?

The fact that Makar is a finalist shows that MacKinnon should not be the front runner for the hart. Drai not being there is surprising especially considering the players probably don’t care about 10 missed games.

Draisaitl was the best player in the NHL this season but he missed games and I think Kucherov deserves this trophy based on his overall season. I do not think he should win the Hart though.
