There isn't much separating Vasi and Helle this season.. the main difference is one plays on a team where he is by far and away the best player, which is why Helle will win the Vezina and be in hart conversation. But they are nearly identical statistically.

So yeah, at the very least 2nd best goalie in a very strong goaltending year, or a top 1-3 forward in a very strong year

But I certainly disagree that it's Kucherov in a landslide.

I voted McDonagh. Partially tongue in cheek, partially because this cursed website had a popup ad over half the other candidates. But largely because...he's absolutely crushed tough minutes in bulk, in a way that has entirely re-stabilized the Lightning Bolts blueline. It's slotted everyone back in where they're supposed to be and it just works. Nothing flashy there, but guys like McDonagh are how you build contender caliber depth. Perfect foil to Hedman as quiet second pairing steady eddy just logging a stupendous amount of hard minutes and keeping things well above water.
