GDT: 2024-25 SEASON GAME 81 LA Kings vs Seattle Kraken @7:30pm 4/15/25

boy oh boy the novel I just wrote and deleted

Ya know if you wanna dismiss the accomplishments of this team in the regular season there are way better ways of doing it than what I'm seeing in here...

To be a lottery team, LA would only need to have lost an additional 8 games. Based on his GAA Rittich would have yielded 38 more goals thank Kuemper, taking LA from #2 defensively to #16.

Not the exaggeration that you think it is.
Ok… but #16 defensively with #15 in offense certainly doesn’t make a lottery team. So it’s still an exaggeration It’s annoying when I have to agree with Axl.

It’s been a great regular season and Hiller has done a great job to date. He has to be in the conversation for the Jack Adam’s.

Not to mention that if anybody were to say "ok but imagine if we won two more games against the dregs of the league" you'd get scoffed at or accused of saying "well if they were better they'd be better" but "we" can sit around and spend weeks "if they were worse they'd be worse"ing as if something important was said.

Explain how it is an exaggeration?

LA only had to lose 8 games to be a lottery team this year. GAA differential between Rittich and Kuemper would have been +38 and on average Rittich gave up nearly .8 additional goals per game. Are you really saying that running Rittich, who by the way has 0 shutouts to Kuempers (let's call it 6 since he was pulled late against EDM) wouldn't have made them lose an additional 8 games?

Please...

I have working on being more positive after my 83rd anger management class.

Last night the Kings beat a team that they have struggled against with a depleted roster. Big Save Dave/ Big Dick Rittich was not good, but we still won.
Darcy, Drew , Mike, Anze, and (depending on your definition) Byfield got to rest.

Even though it was a meaningless game the team pulled themselves up by their ankle blankets and eeked out a win. Hopefully the increased ice time will help guys like Turcotte and What the Helenius.

Last nightg was a speed bump on the way to the playoffs and there kept their head in the game.

Was it ideal? Hell no
Was it impressive considering who was on the ice- Yes

The more the season goes on, the more impressed I am with Hiller's coaching. He needs to be in the Jack Adams and Jack Nicklaus discussion.

as far the goaltending, I am guessing that Rittich moves down the depth chart and Portillo moves in the backup role

Utah, who is 17th in offense and 17th in defense is a lottery team.

If this response is to me, praising a player (Kuemper) for saving this season is not the same as dismissing the accomplishments of this team.

I’m giving you the biggest eyeroll, sir. What’s the point in saying that?

It's not difficult. I said without Kuemper, LA is a lottery team. Axl disagreed, so I gave reasoning.
I've been watching way too much Columbo and my detective skills are as sharp at Roenick's skates

I think most people here have the three letter word on ignore so , like me, she probably didn't even see that you (likely) quoted him and it just looks like you made the point out of left field

I don't know if it was really ever a realistic point
But do you really think the front office would go in to the season without upgrading the goaltending?

Sure there is a debate to be had , a "what if" is Keumper had been hurt for the season early on...
I still think if that was the case that the office would have traded for a stop gap

As good as the Kings are with goalies, they have to know that Rittich isn't a starter and that Copely probably wasn't going to sniff the NHL this season

Oh and I lied, I did watch Landman. Wasn't terrible.
Looks like I need to watch that !

I am binging Silicon Valley right now. I can't believe that I didn't watch this show earlier.

This crazy bastard is one of the funniest characters in the history of TV
