GDT: 2024-25 season game 76 LA Kings vs Edmonton Oilers @1:00pm 4/5/25

that was my understanding too. I guess it really would depend on the officials and how they read it. There are lots plays where guys go offside and the other team start something , with guys still getting penalties.

Different circumstance, play goes offside, guy gets hit late, scrum ensues, penalties,

Missed goal goes, 30 seconds goes by, guy gets tripped, they figure out a goal went in, those 30 seconds get erased.

I believe I am wrong in this actually, had a few minutes to research it, and my memory does indeed fail me, it's so rare that it has happened, not sure what I thought I was remembering there

It's all good. Appreciate the transparency and follow up. It sounds like it was a slight niss from the refs, albeit ultimately inconsequential.

I believe the rule is:
Player goes offside, but linesman misses it. Play continues until goal is scored by offsides team. Upon video review, the play is called offsides. Everyone on the ice crams into a Delorean clown car style and goes back to the moment the offsides occurred. Faceoff outside the zone. Marty McFly makes out with the young, hot version of his mom. Play on.

Was out this weekend and only caught the SN highlight package on YT that didn't even show the overturned goal, just the clip of it being overturned.

Anyways, was the game at least chippy at all from the Kings side of things? Was hoping for some swagger since the late season games heading into a playoff matchup against Edmonton have been real duds with Edmonton generally establishing themselves as the bullies.

From the highlights, seemed pretty tame.

Not an ounce of swagger from the Kings who let a guy coming off IR push them around all night

mayb eone moment of doughty repeatedly crosschecking a downed opponent who was jabbing at Kuemper but otherwise Darcy was getting bumped all day

It has been happening more often since Jeannot has been out.

Kings could have easily won 5 or 6 to 0. Edmonton offered very little except up and down the wings for one shot at a time. Kings were patient, never threatened.

It was a tame game, and there was no reason for it to be anything else. The key was getting the points and the separation - not indulging Edmonton in the only way they could have changed the game in their favor.

You want to send a message, you do it in their barn with a clear advantage in the home ice race.

Let's hope they have that chance next Monday and actually take it. I'm still pissed off about the Mikey Anderson concussion game.

The '0' was masked by Kuemper being awesome.

Kings were sloppy and frequently one bounce away from a tie game.
