GDT: 2024-25 season game 72 LA Kings vs Toronto Maple Leafs @4:00pm 3/29/25

I mean that one break given by NHL sit room not seeing the high stick, cost 1 goal and 2 penalties.. that was brutal

Nah the high stick was only a thing because some guys on the first powerplay unit use that minute and 15 second of pp time as a rest and play with no urgency. Then they were standing around in their own zone while Matthews smoked them.

I missed the first 10 minutes of the third. I guess I saw them outshoot the leafs by 10 and give up a 4 on 3. Until the empty netter I thought they had a decent chance to tie it. And it was a weird bounce that made Kopi look bad on that final goal.

It looked like Matthews and Tavares outplayed Kopitar and Danault at the end of the day. So, that’s not really surprising if Byfield didn’t step up. Biggest mistake was not elevating Clarke to PP1 in the third.

You'd think after getting schooled on special teams in the playoffs 3 seasons in a row, they'd have the nuts to make some drastic changes after seeing almost no improvement the entire season. Kuzmenko is a plus, but they need to remove 11 and maybe even 8 to get more speed and deception. 100% Q needs to be there.

Was Q playing today(I'm being sarcastic)?! He was a complete non factor today.

Yeah. Keumper came up huge with that first save and the Kings just hung him out to dry. Unacceptable.

The non high stick explanation is baloney! Matthews was looking upward to find the puck in the air to swat it with the front of his stick blade.

By the way, NHL is making a lot of money these days so put money towards better camera's in the NHL arenas!
 
I would like to point out only 1 goal scored(from a player that hadn't scored in 18 games) in the last 2 games. Kings are back to having big issues scoring goals again. This is a wake-up call. You can't expect them to be just dominant at home. Going into the playoffs, everybody starts with an 0-0 record.
