GDT: 2024-25 season game 68 LA Kings vs Carolina Hurricanes @1:00pm 3/22/25

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

The most important thing about the trade is that it appears to have gotten Kopitar out of the massive slump he was in. I think it's apparent now that he just isn't the same player than car carry a Kyle Calder or Scott Thornton type anymore, even with Kempe, they needed someone who was going to be a threat offensively, credit to Blake for fixing that for only a third.

Kopitar is 3+4 and +3 in 7 1/3 games since the lines were balanced by the Kuzmenko trade.

From January 1st up until that trade Kopitar had gone 2+7 -11 in in 23 games.

The 90 point pace he was on in October and November was not sustainable, but if the Kings can get Kopitar to keep around this pace and not fall back into the disaster he was in, that makes the outlook a lot better.
Nearly every time that line has offensive zone time its Kopitar that turns it over. He looks better today than he has but hes struggling right now to keep up with Kempe and Kuzmenko

Don't do it!

Last time you know who did this, Turcotte went 24 games without a goal.

Moore is in a great spot now in the roster construction, his value to a team depends on the role he is given, now it's good, maybe in the recent past it hasn't been.
I think it has more to do with him being healthy.

He's a very good middle six forward.

This has to be one of the weirdest games in the league so far this season.

6 goals on 33 shots total is crazy.
All 6 goals on 16 shots for the Kings?
Is this proof of the multiverse and every possible scenario happening?

They've been awfully quiet lately.
He is playing a different game. More assertive and straight forward. Huge pick up for the playoffs if he keeps playing this way. Looks like he has more strength than he did for the first half the year.

Hope he keeps going. Adding speed in Foegele to that line also helps.
