GDT: 2024-25 season game 67 LA Kings vs Chicago Blackhawks @5:30pm 3/20/25

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

It’s just sad that the Kings were only able to mop the worst team in the NHL for 1 period. Good luck thinking you will beat the oilers playing like this. Imagine playing like this and thinking that the Oilers double shifting McDavid the second they’re losing that Kuemper will be able to stop him. Good goaltending reliance here we go again. Good goalies don’t win against the oilers. How have the Kings not learned this. If the Kings learn to dictate play and go into volume shooting then maybe they will stand a chance. The team we saw in the first period has to play like that against the Oilers all game. Going into a shell has never ever worked for the Kings. They can’t take periods off so close to the playoffs.

I’m happy the Kings won but it’s so disappointing that the Kings approach has not changed after being nearly swept and dominated in the playoffs last year. Like what’s the logic here
Sol, go watch a replay of the WSH game last week...you'll feel better.

That doesn't sound right according to this chart.

Colorado and Dallas have a younger average age, and the Blues have the same average age as the Kings.
Yah, don’t know how they came to that conclusion:

There's also this article that disproves that graphic.

And that's from October of this season.
4th youngest out of 8 playoff teams according to that graphic. 7th youngest if you include teams currently in the hunt.

7th…1st what’s the difference, really? We’re right there.
