GDT: 2024-25 Season Game 65 LA Kings vs Nashville Predators 5:00pm 3/15/25

I’ve not thrown around praise. I have no idea why he was not out sooner at 3/3 but neither do you. At best it’s supposition.

I do think though that any steps a player does or doesn’t take is a shared responsibility. It might be a 50/50 share or a 90/10 share but it’s never 100% on the coaching or the player. Its that’s praise then so be it.

This is the best version of QB we have seen. Q gets plenty of credit for that but some credit has to go to Hiller. How much? No clue.
It’s funny how the best QB version happened as soon as Hiller was forced to put him on 3 on 3. Im cool with being opinionated despite not being in the locker room. When Lewis came back from injury they took apart the 4th line after they were on a massive tear.

Coaches do dumb shit. Todd was awful. Hiller is an idiot too. Maybe less of an idiot but I think to act like he had some 5d plan for Byfield then I think it’s just not based on fact or precedent. If they weren’t 0-5 i am heavily inclined to believe that Byfield wouldn’t be out there. Pressure forced Hillers hand. To pretend that isn’t the case is completely devoid of reason and precedent.

Don't let facts f*** up your narrative,

1st OT game of the season (2nd game of the season) Byfield, Fiala, Clarke STARTED the OT. Had 2 shifts in OT vs Kopitar's 1

2nd OT game of the season (3rd game of the season) Byfield, Fiala, Gavrikov STARTED the OT.

3rd OT game of the season, Byfield didn't start, but had 2 shifts

4th OT game of the season, Byfield didn't get a shift, Fiala, Laferrieire ,Gavrikov started, then Danault came on for Gavy but other 2 were stuck and goal was scored

5th OT game of the season, no shifts, OT ended in a minute

6th OT game of the season, Byfield scored the OT goal....clearly he played

7th OT game, Byfield started

8th OT game, Byfield started....

Don't let FACTS get in your way.....

Get the media to pressure him to take Kopitar off the 1st pp unit for Byfield
I'm still waiting for a roster of who the consensus "media" is because half the time "the media" is described as nothing more than shills, team employees, cowards and yes men and then the other half it's a powerful cabal of movers and shakers that can change the course of the franchise or influence a coaches lineup decisions.

So just who IS "The Media"?!

EDIT: And YES This is me being think skinned and in just a bit of a bad mood cus of cancer related stuff so take your pot shots I don't care I'm admitting here that I'm out of line. Go sick.

I wasnt taking shots just was joking that if you are the media and your pressure works like Sol says maybe you can relay the message

I think you’re just missing the point. I am not of the ilk for giving people credit when it isn’t due. Maybe you are, but not me. There’s many instances where people are put in a corner and do things they wouldn’t normally do because their methods are resulting in critical failure.

Hiller was far too happy to let Kopitars corpse limp around in the 3 on 3 until they had 0 wins and a handful of losses. Do you think it’s possible he put Qb because he wanted to or because he felt the pressure to do so since his tactics weren’t working and the media was asking him about it.

You may throw around praise aimlessly but I like to consider the circumstances when decisions were made.

Oh Mr. judicious huh?

Hiller has been pretty damn good.

Especially for a rookie head coach.

he is likely getting extended.

Justify it how you want but looking from the outside you are always whining and being hyper critical and impatient.

Another example would be , how you spoke of Byfield.

You will never change old man.
Equivalent of some people praising Blake for surviving a game of Russian Roulette with the PLD situation but ignoring the fact that Blake is the one who loaded the chambers when no one asked him to

So we can't just start out with recent developments in a post.

We are required to go back a half decade to the start of his tenure.

Sorry I am not willing to do that, especially with you lot.

Why not make it 1967 and JK Cooke?

Lol, context, Sol.

The changes made to the forum where for the best, thanks to the staff.

I checked in while my keyboard was broken and it was super stagnant here and one sided for the most part.

It was evidenced by the declining number of comments.

Redickulost!

Hiller and even Tmac have proven upsides.

e.g

Detroit since.

Kings home record.

You ough to write the scenes for soap operas.

Moving on from a first vote HOF is a process and it has to be earned.

Devoid of any reason lol, you are Mr 5d plot lines that do not exist outside of your cynical imagination

Don't you think their roles as dictated by their styles are much different.

Byfield should go in front of the net for Kuzmenko, but Kuz he has been good and a high skill version of that.

Despite not registering points.

And Kopitar is not in the front down low very much.

I have a hard time believing anyone gets extended if the Kings bounce first round again. I think it’s even possible that Gavrikov walks and the Kings tear down the Blake experiment completely to start new. If they fail again, no one is safe. Todd couldn’t make it out the first round and if Hiller with a shorter leash can’t do it either, then what’s the point?

They will probably tear down the entire team and build around Byfield and Clarke. Probably Kempe is gone too. If the team isn’t moving the needle then you have to start anew.

I think the best thing Blake did in his entire tenure is acquiring Foegele. I thought about Gavrikov but the assets required to get him was insanely high. Foegele has been the least costly with the highest return.

Playoff teams don’t go into ‘full rebuild’ mode….ever.
