Oh my god they're scratching Spence now......

Are you f**king kidding me?!?

This org is so ridiculous

I just laugh at this point when on the telecast they talk about how hiller wants an uptempo system with the dmen attacking and more offense from the dmen

then ices a lineup that has Gavrikov, Anderson, Edmundson, Moverare, Burroughs trying to lug the puck thru the neutral zone and failing at every breakout pass while Spence and Clarke sit around

and then wonder why we can't score much from the defense and why the opposition doesn't even need to cover the point, they shade hard into covering the slot becasue there aren't any threats above the circles.

This is how 'defense first' affects the offense, icing 5/6 dmen that can't move a puck without using glass

And again, the worst part is this team could actually be pretty damn good if they just got out of their own damn way.

If they played the right players in the right roles ffs.

Play Clarke AND Spence. Limit Doughty's minutes. Banish Danault from the powerplay. Play guys like Thomas, Helenius, Lee, etc on the 4th line. Then you make a solid deadline addition or two to address needs and all of the sudden we could be cooking.

But they actively choose to shoot themselves in the foot instead - It's maddening.

Yea I find it weird when people say you cant have Spence and Clarke in the lineup at the same time.
Florida had Montour and Forsling. Colorado had Makar, Byram and Girard. Kings had Martinez and Voynov. You can most definitely have more than one puck mover on the roster at a time.
This team would have even ruined a guy like Makar. I watched Stutzle the other day and he turned it over 3 times in one shift. He never would have been the same player here.
Its just a shame they traded Faber because he is their wet dream and would have excelled here.

It's so damn irritating they trade away players who are objectively "perfect" for the org (Faber, Vilardi) for what they bring, and use them to pull in players who don't fit as well, then try to change the prospects and players they have into the players they traded away.

Let's trade out some steel so we can buy wood, then let's try to transmute the wood into steel.

The Los Angeles Alchemists

We got the Pittsburgh Penguins making additions before we do anything.

What probably happens is Blake tries to make the biggest move of the deadline by acquiring Rantanen where he leaves in free agency after we get swept by Edmonton.

My guess is one of Spence or Clarke is gone at the deadline, but whatever, let's see if we can get revenge on the Blues... GKG.
