Not going to lie I got pretty nervous when Utah made it 4-3, thought for sure it was setting up to go to overtime, but they got the job done. Was curious to see how both teams would do after the long break, encouraging stuff

A win is a win.

Depressing to hear Nick talk about how he only has a few months left. Similarly sad that the GDT is only 3 pages.

Everything dies I guess.
I’m gonna level with you,

After watching 4 nations, Kings hockey is simply depressing to watch by comparison. Hard to post about a team that is rudderless.

Gonna take a while for that shine to come back, but I really hope it does.

Fast paced game. A little preseasony with the turnovers and overskated pucks but expected with teams shaking the rust off and executing at a high speed. Nice to see them hang tough to the lead given Utah is playing pretty loose too

Eh, a few of the vocal and polarizing people were quiet. And Fiala's screw ups weren't as numerous to cause all of us to collapse.

Good win though

The Fiala-Byfield-Laferriere line continues to get chances. They're both dangerous and kinda sloppy at the same time.

I said during the break that Laferriere was on the precipice of breaking out to another level...
Wish the same could be said about byfield

If the Kings play this 11/7 in the playoffs, they will get burned for it. You got to be able to roll 4 forward lines to be a good team in the playoffs. Besides, having 12 forwards balances out and keeps forwards more fresh in the game. My guess Blake(ugh as GM) will acquire a goal scoring PP forward by the trade deadline, so Hill will have no choice but to play 12/6.

Tourney did wonders for Drew, he looks so much better, like he's more up to speed on everything. What a ripper of a shot. Guys look well rested, can't believe Lewis had a goal too.

This is dumb. Clarke is the Kings best scoring d-man with 25 pts(4g, 21a) in 52 games played. And he's only averaging 13 mins per game, yet you only play him 5 mins? He's should be playing a lot more than averaging 13 mins per game. What Hill may not realize enough, if the opponent is neutralizing the Kings forwards, this opens up more opportunity for offense from the defense, which is something Clarke excels at. If Clarke shows he's a big offensive threat, opponents will have to start respecting that. It's starting to show up for Doughty. More offense from the back end, forces opponents to put less extra coverage on the Kings forwards.

I didn't even realize the Kings had a game and the NHL was back from the break...until just right now. I was just living my life. Unbeknownst to me.

He looked absolutely explosive more than once last night...I didn't disagree with you but that wasn't a development I saw coming. Maybe he needed the rest, still getting used to pro schedule a bit, hence the slowdown after a crazy start.

God they are THIS CLOSE to getting it (and doing nothing about it).

I can't imagine how much slower last night's game felt after Four Nations, he was probably reading code in the Matrix with no problem. So glad to see him more up to speed, even though you can tell his mobility is hampered.

Yea there were a couple plays he looked to send a pass through the middle of the ice but there was no Mcdavid heading up to receive it.
His mobility is hampered mostly just when guys try to beat him wide but he is smart enough to keep the play in front him for now.
He played a good game and is already miles ahead of where he was before the tournament.
