Hot Take: Englund > Edmundson > Jones > A Turd > Burroughs
Englund - Spence was a good pairing for half a season until Englund fell off big time. We would be in pretty good shape if Doughty wasn’t injured actually.

Anderson - Doughty
Gavrikov - Clarke
Englund - Spence

We’re missing a #1 defenseman and it’s really obvious

I only knew of him but this is a nice write up:

Oh crap. This is a real bummer, man.

Gann was probably one of THEE nicest individuals I've come across in LA Kings land. Always had a smile. Always was super down to earth. Felt like you already knew him even after only talking to him for the first time.

What a loss. :(

Damn. And that's with a few games of 6 to 8 min TOI. He could have 5 or 6 points right now, with
more TOI and how close he's been to having more points. Looks good on PP too.
Would be insane if Turcotte and Laferriere can both top 40 pts this year.
They look great together. Foegele looked better tonight as well. Maybe this
line works and all 3 can gel.

Good. The Kings should be trading him soon.

I just watched the replay of the game after getting off work and Turcotte has been THE best player to start the year for the Kings. So sad that those concussions have hurt what he probably could have been.
A smallish, high energy, heady player with a nose for the hard areas of the ice, who struggled with injuries.

I wonder where I have seen this before…

Not sure the bolded is true, this is exactly what they expected from Turc.. if he continues to score then they nailed the pick, it just took him longer than expected to get here

It was an idea. I didn't say it was a good idea.

Wow I had no idea about his work on establishing the Manzanar National Historic Site. What a guy. Gone too soon.

Foegele pointless. Stats match the eye test.
Foegle is a specialist who isn't being used in his one real strength - north/south zone stretching speed. He is a good worker, average hands at best, but he won't cheat you. His game will come around once the team settles into the season and they find their discipline.

The Byfield/Fiala/Foegle line looked good in preseason, but there is just something in Fiala's mind that goes haywire under the slightest pressure.

it's kind of why i like the idea of foegele-turcotte-laf, it's a very lunchpail north-south line with a little extra creativity due to turc and some jam

not a lot of size though but that's a good third line

I would LOVE to see Moore-Turcotte-Laferriere for that speed, jam and quick plays in small spaces.

If they insisted on Byfield on the wing for short term gratification, this would likely be their best current lineup:

Byfield-Kopitar-Kempe
Jeannot-Danault-Fiala
Moore-Turcotte-Laferriere
Foegle-Thomas-Lewis

If only I still had an Xbox...

Pretty sure he was behind the old Online Kingdom chat site back in the 90s. I started talking hockey online in 1998 there, LGK and Fried Chicken's Hockey Fight Site. Oh, and the Sharks site had an official message board that was pretty good at discussing the entire league.

Really liked Gann's site and preferred it over LGK but then LGK kind of took off and I started here on HF. Legit went to Luc's 500th goal game with one of the posters from the Online Kingdom since the game wasn't televised locally, which is why footage of the event is only from the Sabres broadcast.

Anyways, I never met him but it always sucks to lose such a devoted fan: especially one that helped bring Kings fans together.

Trade Fiala for two Laferriere/Lee equivalent type players; young guys who look promising but aren't "stars".

If we get a pick too, that'd be great.

Fiala reminds me so much of Cedric Ceballos, could create offense out of thin air but as soon as things got tough he would become a liability.. I know Sol loves him dearly but that trade was absolute trash and literally set this team back

I'd be okay if he turned into Justin Williams type player. Just hoping he can stay healthy.

I think the injuries killed his chances to be a 2C and any growth to his game. Like adding scoring to his distribution game. He's probably a 10-15 goal guy a season but probably should be a 20-25 goal guy.

Looking at his positioning and shot creation and 20-25 goals is still very much a possibility
