Its probably too hopeful to expect Clarke back in the lineup. If he gets traded I'm taking a huge break from this team until the proper people are rightfully removed.

I'm hoping we can get past the trade deadline with him still in the organization and then Blake et al are fired. Changes need to be made. I'm not sure how anyone could be satisfied with the state of this team at this point.

Unfortunately, even with Blake gone, the damage he has inflicted on this franchise is going to linger for a long time. You just can’t really recover quickly from the multiple disaster trades and all the top picks underachieving

Dean inherited two young future hall of famers in Kopi and Quick, a young power forward in Dustin Brown, really good u-25 players in Cammalleri and Frolov and a player in Demitra he was able to flip for basically two 1st round picks.

The next GM is going to inherited aging, declining veterans with very little trade value and a bunch of mostly disappointing young players. The only similarity is the new GM will probably be able to flip Kempe for a pretty significant haul of picks/prospects.

Best case scenario for a quick turnaround is the new GM completely cleans house and overhauls the scouting and development staff and we hit a couple of homerun picks that are developed correctly. Chicago was a doormat franchise until they drafted Hall of Famers back to back with top 5 picks, it is possible, but realistically it will probably be a 5+ year cleanup from the mess Blake has left this organization.

This assumes that Blake is fired this year. I fell for that last season, never again. There is no way that ownership changes the course of the franchise right before Kopi’s farewell season. They probably won’t do it until Doughty’s contract is over either. I think we’re a couple years away from even getting a new GM in there, by which time Kempe will either have walked or been signed to a well-deserved monster deal that makes him significantly less tradeable.

Predicting another game of 2 or less goals for our LA BLucGervins.

Still waiting for them to make other teams "uncomfortable" and for players to go to the "uncomfortable" areas of the ice.

Imagine being one of the least talented teams in the NHL, a team that has scored 2 or less goals min 9 out of 10 games, and then deciding to scratch that player.

That tells you all you need to know about this team under BLuc.
Im betting this game.. as I am sure you are as well.. Rittich in goal does make the over under trickier

edit: and regarding this Clarke scratch, this type of shit was happening before Hiller was. in charge.. He's just a lacky for the morons up top

Clarke better be back in the lineup tonight.

Would love to see Doughty or Byfield level Kucherov but that's probably asking too much. I did like a couple of Doughty's checks last night, glad he is back.

Yikes.... Didn't they say Doughty wouldn't play tonight because of the back to back??

Are they TRYING to re-injure this guy?????? They don't ease him back into the lineup at all and end up playing him more than any other skater in the game. And they're going to do the exact same thing again tonight.

Smh... It's not like he's a 35 year old coming off a serious leg injury.

Yeah, I hate Rittich in goal and on a back to back vs Tampa, something like 5-1 is certainly possible. But for me it's a set and forget now, and we actually get it around even money tonight because people are afraid of Rittich. Goodluck.

If they were playing like they were in December, they might have a different attitude around Clarke. But because they've been playing like dog water most of this month, that they're trying to find ways to get more wins. Somehow that means benching Clarke who has been your most productive defenseman up until this point to try and protect one of Englund or Burroughs from getting claimed off waivers. It's not like we didn't know Doughry was coming back soon, should we not have had a conditional plan for when that happens?

I'm not going to harp on them sending down Helenius or Lee because the teams success doesn't rely on 2 4th line players when there's several other players making a lot more money struggling to score. We've used an 11/7 setup for almost half the season and now we don't want to use it when now is probably the best time to do so? What are we doing?

Also... I love Doughty and he's obviously still a good player but playing him more than any other skater in that game last night is SO unnecessary and incompetent.

Simply put, he's not good enough anymore to FORCE you to play him a ton of minutes. If this was 10 years ago, sure. If this was a Quinn Hughes or a Cale Makar returning to the lineup then sure. But this is a 35 year old player with nearly 1200 NHL games played coming off a major leg injury.

Just flat out stupid and irresponsible.
