GDT: 2024-25 season game 48 LA Kings vs Florida Panthers @4:00pm 1/29/25

Clarke is by far the top scoring D. 24 pts in 47 games. Best defensive team in the league, who can’t score for shit. So you scratch him. And Doughty has to play the most of any King in his first regulation game since last April. In a shutout where your top offseason UFA said it was a man’s game out there.

What a joke. These dummies in charge are the best in franchise history at wasting every single good thing.

There's only one way out this. The team needs to head to Golden Corral and head right to the chocolate fountain and run a train on the heifer who is drinking straight from it.

And had it not been for Clarke, Kings probably don't win that game at Crypto against Florida.

Okay, so now what that Doughty is back and we still get shutout? This team sux when playing on the road. The coach should be gone since he gets no offense from the scoring talent we do have, but we all know Blake won't fire his yes coach. So a big trade for some offense is in store. This team can plenty defend but can't score goals. Acquire a PP/goal scorer and dump Trevor Lewis for good!

I might add the Flames/Canucks are only 3 and 4 points behind respectively. The Kings can't afford to go into another losing slump, or they might end up chasing a Wild Card spot!

This team is a lot further away from contending than simply replacing Lewis with a goal scorer.

We’re four points ahead of Vancouver with a game in hand to remain in a playoff spot, but Vancouver has been a dumpster fire this year, which tells us all we need to know about the Pacific division.

Still, 3-6-1 in the last ten is not great. We have the best winning percentage in the league at home though, which is pretty crazy. Home ice advantage would be great for us, but we might not even make the playoffs if we keep playing like this.

You can literally see the team playing. But just going through the motions, there's no soul, there's no emotion, there's no desire, there's no will.

Again, can't stress this enough, go to the 4 pillars of the game, skate, shoot, pass, hit. Dumb your game down to that, excel in those areas, out skate, out shoot, out hit the the other team, when you do that, 9 out of 10 times you will win. But they aren't doing that, they aren't coming close to that. Is that a player issue, is that a coach issue? Don't know, but it's sure as hell an issue.

Not that LA deserved to win, but the officiating certainly didn't go their way.

When you go on a cold streak everything feels like it's going against you.

Hell has frozen over I agree completely. Hahaha

Are they still planning on resting Doughty on the back-to-back?

If so, who draws in for him: Burroughs or Englund?

Or will they both play and go 11-7?

Those are the only realistic options.

lollll can you imagine

Next game is 11-7

Anderson-Gavrikov
Edmundson-Spence
Moverare-Burroughs
Englund

WHY CANT WE SCORE

It was a very poorly officiated game

but its different when you're the one dominating 5v5, Kings got caved in and deserved every bit of the result of the game flow

Besides, any more PPs and they had a higher chance of giving up a shorty than getting a PP goal at this stage.

Gonna be 7 D for sure, with Lewis and Clarke as the two dangling forwards.

The real question is which washed up vet D are they going to trade for at the deadline to block Clarke from playing playoff games once they realize Burroughs and Englund ain’t it either?

Y'all were pretty hard on Lewie tonight. It's not like he was the reason the rest of the team couldn't score a goal.

Ok, it's not like Lewis was the reason they couldn't score 2 goals.

Doughty did not disappoint on the PP. Left Fiala defending Barkov & was it Reinhart? On a rush.

I still believe in Byfield becoming a top line C. Am I the only one?
You're not the only one.

Despite what people will try and say, QB is already good.

There's lots of ups and down, he obviously doesn't score as much as you want considering his draft position, but his overall on ice impact is pretty good.

We drafted him in 2020, as a center, and here we are almost 5 years later finally putting him a consistent center role. It's pretty insane it's taken them that long to do this with a #2 OA pick.
