I'm not saying give Doughty 30 minutes immediately, actually the opposite. Anderson Gavrikov eating huge minutes allows him to come back slower

Defense and power play propensity for shinguard assaults aside, Doughty is one of the best transition dmen in the league

The team is near the top constantly in defense and possession so they don't "need" doughty for that but part of the reason they're #1 at D is barely any of their dmen are crafty puck carriers, Doughty will help enable a bit more offense than Burroughs spinning like a top in his own zone trying to identify his ass from a hole in the ground

Kings are de facto improved with Drew returning just for having Burroughs bumped off the roster, not to mention his elite vision and read of the game. I expect he'll help our godawful bottom of the barrel PP as well.
