What a great idea, sit him in the pressbox until he caves to a trade! I mean that's the way to do it, imagine the message it would send to the rest of the team...it would really get these guys in line!

Man, I love Xbox.

I mean the Rangers have twice threatened to waive guys if they didn't accept a trade. Now it's different with Fiala because he has a NMC, but it's not unprecedented as you might think.

I don't think they're going to move Fiala for a variety of reasons

good to see Byfield stepping up and becoming a factor. He’s had a bad year but these past 5 games he’s been a lot better. Consistency is what we all hope for regardless of how we view his ability. It does help his shot looks a lot better. The elusive wrist shot has been showing itself.

Makes you wonder if the earlier 'upper body injury' was arm-related, like a shoulder, wrist, whatever, like when Kopitar was wearing his robotech arm for that entire season.

I mean part of it is probably his thus-far natural inconsistency too but that was the first time in his career he wasn't just a little soft offensively but a total p***y on the boards as well.

Gee, ya think?!
Continuing to ice Burroughs is also extreme.

Edit: It's like going on a date with someone that has a lot going for them, but there's just that one red flag. Stuff's going really well though. Just over look that red flag. It's probably nothing. Definitely isn't going to end up with a rabbit in a soup pot.

If you are OK with your team pulling that shit, great....but don't think for a second it's going to help in getting key players to re-sign or the acquisition of key FAs in the future.

Burroughs has been in 19 games so far this season.
You are severely underestimating the power of a great mustache. In his defense, Hiller is really powerless to stop him. All he can really do is limit his minutes.

I agree. Kings hitched their wagons to Fiala as much as PLD, considering the talent traded and money committed. His NMC would be the biggest factor blocking a trade.

I think the soonest Fiala would be moved, if at all, would be in 2026 when his NMC is a modified NTC.

Rangers rumored to want JT Miller. They will shake it up soon. Interesting to see what they do. Would love to grab Quick to pair with Darcy.

I want Alex Tuch from Buffalo. Big right shot guy that puts up points. Would fit team well. Power play right shot would be nice.

Need to get Fiala away from the point on the PP. Every time he drifts back there I stress. Once Drew is back it will change the PP units a bit . Also gets our favorite 7th D a seat on the bench.

What would you be willing to give up to add Tuch?

I really love the idea of adding Tuch as well. I agree he'd be a perfect fit for this team. He's also a guy who would likely be GREAT to have in the playoffs. 6'4 big body who plays hard and skates really well. Plays with some skill and has a good shot.

Honestly, I think adding Tuch could be a move that pushes the Kings to the next level.

The Kings would have so much size throughout their lineup if you add Tuch and subtract Moore (assuming Moore would have to be part of that trade package).

Tuch (6'4) - Kopitar (6'3) - Kempe (6'2)
Jeannot (6'2) - Byfield (6'4) - Foegele (6'2)
Fiala (5'11) - Danault (6'1) - Laferriere (6'1)
Lee (6'5) - Helenius (6'6) - Lewis (6'1)
*Only problem is I'm not really sure where you put Turcotte after adding Tuch. I imagine Turcotte would play over Lee on the 4th line but I tried to go for maximum size in the lines above.

Anderson (6'0) - Doughty (6'1)
Gavrikov (6'3) - Clarke (6'2)
Edmundson (6'4) - Spence (5'11)
Moverare (6'3)

That could be a veryyyyy hard team to play against in the playoffs with that much size and the defensive prowess the Kings have shown this year.

Canned? No. Called out? Yes. Doughty is coming back anyways so hopefully that means Burroughs is long gone. If he somehow stays over Moverare then I'll really be questioning his judgement...
Long way to go, but Hiller could conceivably be considered for coach of the year.

You move Lee to a spare, drop Jeannot to the 4th and replace him with Turc as he and Q could really benefit from each other

Maybe.... But Foegele - Byfield - Jeannot has been one of the best lines in the NHL in terms of goal share since the line's creation. Might be a grouping to keep together.

just here to see the anti byfield guys say nothing
Because Byfield has been playing well as of late. It started during the road trip except for a bad game or two.
Doesn't change the fact that he had a bad stretch to end last season and to start this season. Half a season's worth of mediocre play.
Perhaps just a learning curve playing center in the NHL. Just reinforces the idiocy of him spending so much time not playing this role.
But glad he's playing much better. Hope it continues and hope Fiala can do the same

He's still horribly inconsistent for his draft status his level and skill, and this recent stretch of grwat games hasn't or doesn't change that.

Big guys take longer to mature, afact everyone knows.

He has been playing effective D and took a lot of Kopi's PK minutes.

Leaving Kopi fresher has really been a great move by Hillie.

Byfield will slowly , take more of the mantle from Kopi and has chemistry with Kempe.

The recent stretch has him looking like future 1c, that's does make a difference.
howdy:lol:

Especially while the Kings are on a heater on top of the other points made.
🤠
Which team would immediately snatch Hiller if he was canned in some loss of sanity maneuver?

Now I get why you guys get so mad at @Axl Rhoadz

Completely schooling the whiskey bottle GM's here.

Dead on about

handling Fiala and long term implications for future and current players.

Unhinged comparison of PLD to Fiala

Jim "Jackie nominee" Hiller.

School is in session man boys!

Go ahead and joke for the 100th time about us being the same person, when obviously much different styles.

lol all those whiny emails to the soccer guy only made AXL up his game with still funny succinct non-bannable replys.

Winning!

The cost would be pretty high. a 1st, a top prospect and a roster player. Spence would be going the other way for sure. But that move also causes a problem with our forward group. Turcotte has proven he can play in the top 6 .
