Game started well. Good physicality.

Hiller needs his head examined for playing Burroughs. He feels uneasy giving Spence Dzone draws, but does icing Burroughs really help?

Second, King's went right back to passive hockey. Good job Hiller.

I love all the whining about Byfield celebrating. I would love to post the Yakupov clip on their board, but I'd probably get banned or something. That said, there are a few level-headed fans there. For example:

i love it when Byfield celebrates, it shows he gives a crap, unlike when the rare occasion PLD scored.

Moverare has become one of my favorite kings..saw a post game video of him handing the helmet to Byfield after his 200th game..guy seems so likable and has nothing but respect. Especially after all the hoops the organization has made him jump through to finally get some regular playing time.

Also an interview Laff and Clarke had with Boyle and Weekes was gold. I think our future is in good hands with these guys.

Fiala has been a dud acquisition, and it’s gonna be nearly impossible to navigate the NMC in order to make a change there.

Blake has been good about moving on from mistakes, but I have a feeling we see Kevin ride out his contract in LA. Which really sucks man.

Its a shame he'll probably get bumped off the roster when Drew comes back. I'd take him over redundant Burroughs in a pinch. Seems like he's always getting undeservedly edged out of playing. The 7th D Burroughs experiment needs to end with Kaliyev's return...

There arent that many that hate Byfield. Just a couple posters but they post about it a lot so it seems like theres more.
Hes well liked for the most prt but I think everyone agrees he has to take that next step and he has shown he could multiple times. If you can outplay Mcdavid and Draisaitl on a given night you can be a star in the league.

There is a whole lot more that goes into building a hockey team than “this many points in this many games”

The dude bleeds chances against, takes the dumbest penalties I have ever seen, turns the puck over at both blue lines like it’s his primary occupation, can’t mesh with the other skilled players on the roster, and doesn’t produce squat 5 on 5. His team worst plus/minus rating supports the eye test as well.

One dimensional meatheads with bloated salaries aren’t hard to find, but they certainly aren’t what this roster needs.

Kevin is the weak link, and it’s not particularly debatable either.

Such a hypocrite. You've bashed QB plenty over the years (& your alter-ego too). I'm not going to rehash that -- i have a life. But you saying that is BS. I know because i've been a big QB fan since draft day and i'm willing to be patient with guys like him and turc who have to deal with a stupid GM/organization who holds back their development. Some fans are irrational and want immediate results; and that's ok -- it's part of the deal with professional sports and fandom (apparently some can't see that and they become irrational to counteract it on fan boards).

This is true, and it applies tenfold to the Stu Skinner apologist sect of Oiler fans, who are blaming almost everyone else, including McDavid and Draisaitl, the coaches, and the defense (despite being ranked 5th in the league), before looking at the glaring problem in net.

If you go on HF Oil, you'll find clowns who claim that the Oil's disappointments are everyone else's fault but Skinner's while totally ignoring relevant statistics, which of course back up the fact that Skinner has usually been the team's biggest liability since at least the 2023 playoffs...where league washout Jack Campbell outplayed Skinner but uber-moron Woodcroft stuck with Stu (he'll never coach another NHL team after the almost-league-bottom Oilers went on a team-record win streak simply by firing him).

They will tell you that it was Skinner who took the team to the finals, not the Smythe-winning McDavid, nor the near-invincible penalty kill...no, it was the guy who had the worst save percentage of any goalie to make it to the Cup Finals in literally DECADES (so adjusted, maybe EVER). The guy who almost single-handedly cost the Oilers its second round series if he hadn't been replaced by an AHL journeyman in Pickard.

In short, these Skinner stans are hockey's flat earthers.
