Kopi is top 20 in the NHL in scoring. He's also a +17.

Top plus/minus forwards in the entire NHL:
1. Kaprizov +23
2. Kempe +19
3. Kopitar +17

Foegle is also +14. Tied for 10th best among forwards.

Somehow Fiala is on the same team as these guys and is -7 (team worst).

Pretty wild.

Even though it was the Flyers, nice to see the team score 7 goals from a good deal of their better offensive forwards. Even positive that Byfield did some good play along the boards to chip it out, beat his man and score an empty netter, and go +2 for the night. It was an empty netter, but maybe scoring any kind of goal can get Byfield's confidence going a tad bit.

The way the Preds are playing, I think the Kings can grab 2 points there and then it's onto playing my Caps/PLD:naughty: in DC!

Kopitar seems reinvigorated now that he's not playing shutdown duties for 21 minutes a game over the last decade.

The only forwards who averaged more ice time in the same span were McDavid and MacKinnon. And he averaged twice their time on the PK combined.
I've defended TMac, but making this move should have been completely obvious and some of us have been saying it for YEARS.

QB on the PK is helping (another move that should've been obvious, he has the perfect skill set for it).

Glad Hiller has figured it out. Hopefully he can apply similar logic to Doughty.

thought kopitar was selfish in this last contract, could have taken less for more cap room. but he deserves every penny
His $10 million per year on previous contract was always high. While he was a great 2-way center and strongly help deliver 2 Cups, his offensive production in the regular season was not $10 million worthy. That amount was probably the fault of Lombardi, who overpaid his top players. This time around $6 million per year would have been better in my opinion.

Biggest key to the future was always going to be a coach that pulled back the reigns of Kopitar and Doughty minutes and situational wise and let someone else get bumped up there.

Unfortunately most of our previous coaches did the opposite and doubled down on Kopitar and Doughty and wore them into the ground.

The current 19mins Kopitar, 17 Danault, 17 Byfield will do wonders compared to the previous 22 Kopitar, 18 Danault, 13 for the 3c.

It happened in san jose too, rode Thornton into the ground

The moment he left there was a huge thing about DeBoer(?) prescribing much more rest for Thornton and he was invigorated for a year or two despite being Methuselah at that point

It’s really nice that Tmac is gone. Such a piece of shit coach and glad to see no one else has picked up Koala.

Hes HOF, Top 40 ALL TIME in scoring and had just won two cups when signing the contract. Im pretty sure he was getting 10mil and he deserved every cent.
