Love how excited Fiala was on that play. He tries to do the give & go so often & normally the other King's players don't realize Fiala is an option after he passes. Then he stands there set up for a shot & looks sad. Someone finally got what Fiala was thinking.

PK: I really didn't have a problem with him. Talking over the pbp guy & saying crazy stuff. Philly was out playing the King's in the second. King's chaos hockey gives up chances that would cause Sutter to spontaneously combust, but they don't go in very often. An outsider watching that isn't going to catch it. Like in '12 how every team outplayed the King's.

After Faust my bar for acceptable announcers is really low.

I always love Fiala's enthusiasm. I always stress it when I'm critical about him, I really really like him as a dude, you can tell he cares.

The problem with PK wasn't that he was all over phily in the 2nd, it was that he was trying so hard all night to defend himself as 'right' about philly and that's really not an announcer's job, he couldn't have been more wrong in the third and he was super defensive with everyone about it. Especially on a 'neutral' telecast, let the game unfold and comment on it, don't dig in on a position, much less a foolish one.

Thats was one of the worst neutral game calls that i can ever remember. ESPN has some shtick they are trying to put on the fans because apparently they dont think the game on its own is good enough for the US audience. PK has no feel.. its like a rhythmically challenged kazoo player in a jazz band.. absolutely no feel for the vibe of the game, and asserts his biased viewpoint all over the telecast creating a distraction. Doing a neutral game takes a degree of emotional maturity and taste I dont think he could ever possess.

my positive wish for jim fox is that he retires and becomes a wine critic.
although considering his total lack of objectivity in his present job, his new one would take some work.
not looking forward to fox as color guy with our new play by play personality whoever that might be. but as i always, i remain positive and hope for the best.
