Despite the lack of offense tonight, had Kuemper played instead of Rittich, Kings might have stole this one. Kuemper came back from injury and looked sharp, yet you put in Rittich because he was 5-0 against the Devils? Kuemper is your #1 goalie and you should play him against the best teams.
That statistic - how goalies do against teams across years.. has to be one the stupidest stats in hockey... maybe it has interest for fans. If you're a coach and use that, should be fired.

What do you think about this ark?

I have a techy arc.

The Kings aren't the only LA team having trouble scoring . The Rams look as bad as the Kings and it's tied 6-6 in the 4th.

Martin Jones as a back up started every game vs the Kings because he had a winning record. He had like 23 wins. He will be recalled from the AHL just to beat the Kings.

The devils couldn't completely dominate us if we cared enough to show up for the game

To me this is a good sign, we can't win them all

Nj's second goal that went through ritts 5 hole damn sure was

Sure but if we get to the point that they're scoring kind of a bunk shorthanded insurance goal after two periods of bailing us out and only 12 shots on goal while we're on a PP and with full control to end the game we don't get to go "f***ing goalie blew it"

yeah that. is a weird case.. Jones is trash otherwise

Weird game,

Refs really didn't wanna call f***all, Kings were timid as hell, again, just, basic hockey, skate, hit, shoot, too many opportunities to shoot not taken, look at what happens when you shoot (Palat, Pesce goal) both, too many times take it from the inside around out, for a worse opportunity, not gonna do much when you do that.

Byfield now has one goal in his last 14, and just two assists in that stretch.

This guy doesn't have it in him to be a go-to player. He's only good in spurts.
Bystander needs a scratch.. at minimum swap him and Turcotte let him work on the 4th line for a bit.. its time for the whip... PP1 was the carrot.

The Kings did what they do; play a tight defensive game while trying to grind out a 2-1 type win.

They'll live by this style, and they'll die by this style.

Regardless, it's their only option if they want to be competitive right now.

Clarke has 3pts in his last 13 games BTW.

I don't completely agree. Sports, particularly goaltending, depends so much on focus and mindset. If a player seems to be more in tune against a particular team or arena/locale, itxs certainly worth being part of the conversation as an x-factor.

But I agree if it was the only reason, it would be silly.

Somtimes in some barns goalies see angles better than others due to backgrounds and other stuff. Lighting differs alot from barn to barn as well that some guys see better in certain lighting. I remember in san jose a few years back when the went to an early version of led lighting and i dont see how anyone could see anything! The corners were black as night. So some barns are better for certain guys over others

I'm really disappointed in him because it looked like he was about to turn a corner, take the bull by the horns attitude

unfortunately he's just taking the bulls horns in the can

The optimist in me wants to hope it's something behind the scenes because he went from last year and dominant in the preseason to looking like relatively hammered dog shit after his 'upper body injury'

But the pessimist in me is starting to wonder if this just is what he is, a talented big dude with high draft pedigree like Nichuskin who just doesn't have the killer instinct to use his top .01% tools to be the player he can be, which would be a sad regression because it was starting to emerge.

And even the regular me is like the whipped puppy bullshit is starting to get old, even my 5'6" ass would go try to run some of those stupid ass overgrown 6'4" 14 year old west valley wolves if nothing else was going right. Stop being a p***y and dump it and hit someone to get into the game if the other stuff isn't quite happeneing. YOu can be productive without literal scoring for a while. This actually goes double for Trevor Moore and Danault as well, you can't be a 'two way center' and just f***ing lose Hughes in the slot without so much as a whack. This game was emblematic of their usual losses earlier in the season...no checking no engagement just roll over and take it and those three were leading the way.

I agree with everything about Byfield. I think something as simple as running a few people over would be good for him. But it’s too much.

But one thing is for certain, I am sick and tired of how soft Trevor Moore is.
