He's become such a solid player.

Whenever he scores a goal off a nice play by a teammate, instead of celebrating he always acknowledges the teammate first. I appreciate that.

He'll be 30 in the first year of his next contract.

Tough predicament.

More like no brainier or if not glance at Kopitars real age and freaking pay Kempe.

Fiala had a critical goal today and the defense doesn't seem to need Farter or whatever his name was.

If find so many, not you, others, so ungrateful for the players we have,

If they can't control it, they should eat leftovers quietly..

Amazingly, the Kings have 14 regulation wins.

Only 3 teams in the league have more:

Jets (15)
Caps (15)
Devils (15)
Kings (14)
Wild (14)
Canes (14)

Edmonton and Calgary, who are both right behind us in the standings, only have 7.

And only one more w at that.

It does feel kinda shocking.

Haven’t been paying much attention to the rest of the league but does this mean most teams are sucking?

No, most of the playoff teams are good and right around us, as pointed out

Edmonton and Calgary are better at getting to OT and winning

Kings tend to lose in terrible fashion and have not won a game that's gone to OT this season.

It's a better 'sign' I guess to be able to take care of business in regulation but it says a lot about coaching/deployment and high end talent that this team can't do much in non 5v5 situations, including PP, OT, SO.

Calgary's won 3 shootouts, Edmonton 5 OT wins.

If Byfield, Danault, Moore, Fiala start playing better and Laferrierre, Clarke, and other young guys keep improving, it's a better team than last year. But that's not saying much and those are a lot of ifs especially with Byfield looking like dog crap. And you know the December swoon is coming for Kopitar.

They definitely have a good record considering some guys are slumping OR never got going.

But yeah that's always the thing...so many question marks. Byfield COULD go nuclear. Doughty COULD come back at full power. Portillo COULD take over the net. But not enough of it never hits and hope isn't a strategy.

It's nice that they're tops in the league at 5v5 but it's worrying that they've NEVER figured out anything BUT 5v5.

Related info:

and they're especially stout at 5v5 defense--though i'd argue it's more like the Muzzin Martinez years where they were excellent 95% of the time but the other 5% is catastrophic breakdowns rather than 'solid all around'. Clarke wandering, Edmundson covering a corner, etc.

I know you said "it's not saying much". But i just find it funny still -- if 4 of the 12 (1/3rd) forwards play better we'll be better. I think all teams would improve if 4 of the 12 guys started to play better.
